a question about taylor.diagram in plotrix package
Hi. I have a question about the taylor.diagram() in plotrix package. How can I control the label "correlation"? In the embedded figure you can see the label "correlation" is too close to the ticks. How can I move it and make it larger? Another problem is the labels "0.95" and "0.99" are too close to the plotting area. I do not find any method to control

about changing line type and line width in Taylor Diagram
Dear all, I am new to plotting Taylor Diagram using plotrix package within R, hence this post. I have written a script which plots Taylor Diagram with one reference and 7 model values. However the font size, line width and line type are not clear when saving the diagram as a jpeg file. I tried the functions lty, lwd and font but no apparent change. I am attaching the script here. Any help would

Taylor diagram
Dear Everyone, I wrote a Taylor diagram program in R, but it was not very general, so I was happy to find the Taylor.diagram in the plotrix package. On the other hand I can find many problems with the pos.cor=TRUE case, in other words, when we use only the first quarter of the space (positive correlations). (When we choose pos.cor=FALSE, the program seems to me perfect) 1.There is only one line

Fine Tuning Plotrix
Dear All, Please see the code snippet at the end of the email. I am using the color2D.matplot in Plotrix to plot a matrix. It works great, but there are a few things I cannot figure out (1) the value of cex.axis in the code snippet does not seem to affect the final pdf at all (at least on my system, Ubuntu 9.10, plotrix and Cairo installed from cran). How do I specify the size of the axis ticks

about taylor.diagram
Hi R users, I don't know if you have used taylor.diagram function. Why my diagram is not like 1/4th of a round shape, but more flat, like 1/4th of an oval? Thanks. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Plotrix Trick
Dear All, I am using the plotrix library to plot some matrices. I have a problem: some of my data are outliers, hence using a linear color scale does not work very well (you would see too many cells having a similar, indistinguishable color). See the code snipped at the end of the email. Plotting the logarithm of the data gets the job done, but my problem is that I would like to write in every

Create a function with multiple object as an output
I've seen some questions regarding the output of multiple objects from a function, however the suggestions all end up suggesting the use of return(list(result1=result1, result2=result2 , result3=result3)). How can I return multiple objects that are 2 big to be added to a list? -- View this message in context:

Query in Taylor Diagram
Dear all, I am coming across a funny problem in taylor diagram. When I plot the diagram for given values of a variable some points are going outside the diagram. i have never seen such a diagram and hence cannot understand the reason for it. any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. the taylor diagrams are attached in this mail. thanks and regards Roopa -------------- next

piper diagram
Hi, Is anyone on the list familiar with an R implementation of Piper Diagrams? Example: http://faculty.uml.edu/nelson_eby/89.315/IMAGES/Figure%209-78.jpg I am thinking that two calls to triax.plot (plotrix) along with some kind of affine-transformed standard plot would do the trick. Not so sure about the final layout, or a nice generalized version for something like lattice. Cheers, Dylan

sample points - sp package
When I make a sample in sp, for example a random samping of 5 points in dataset1: sample.dataset1=spsample(dataset1, n = 5, "random") I have a sp object for the selected sampling... My question is : How can I extract from dataset2 the points & data for the coordinates(sample.dataset1) ? The dataset2 would be an object with the same area and coordinate system, but I would like to

Time Series - Trend Line
How can I had a trend line to my plot? My data looks like this: Date=seq(as.Date("1910/1/1"), as.Date("1920/1/1"), "day") Values=runif(length(Date), min=-5, max=5) dataset=data.frame(Values,as.Date(Date)) I just want to add a linear trend line to this plot(dataset,col=rgb(1,0,0,1/8),cex=0.5,pch=19) -- View this message in context:

Boxplots with different variables and different ranges in R
Dear all, I am trying to make boxplots in one diagram but it is not working. Actually I have a large dataset, around 35 water quality variables with different units and of course in different ranges (some are orders of magnitude bigger than others). I want to produce one diagram with all the boxplots of the variables of my dataset. I tried these series of commands: >oldpar <-

combine venn diagram and pie chart
Hi R users, I am wondering if it there is any R's function helping integrate venn diagram and pie chart to compare two related datasets. I know the package limma(bioconductor) has something built-in for making venn diagram, but I guess it would be very painful to use line and text to specify the proportions in the fashion of pie chart . Thanks in advance, Kevin Chang -- View this

venn diagram in percentage
Hi, I am a beginner with "R" and found a package "venn" to create a venn diagram. I tried this “venn” function to generate venn diagram, but i need *Percentage values* instead of counts(frequency) in the oval(circles) of Venn diagram. Simple network diagram
Hello, I'm trying to create a simple network diagram like that on http://www.pauck.de/marco/photo/infrared/comparison_of_films/diagram3.gif. Unfortunately I've not yet found any function that could do this. I think this should not be a difficult task since I only need two vectors and perhaps the names of the dimensions as data source. Could somebody help me please? Greetings,

persp or scatterplot3d?
Hello, I have three x-y plots whose interesting data occurs at the same time. When I place them in the same plot, they tend to obscure each other. I was hoping to use persp or scatterplot3d to plot them 3-dimensionally, so that the plot is visually useful. My data is simple: x, for all three data sets, is a set of 885 ISOdates, where x <- x0 + seq(1, 885). y is the value of "io",
