User authentication to AD200X, need local users?
I am trying to get user authentication in a 200X AD to have domain
users see the samba shares (RH ES3, samba 3.0.9-1).
I can see the shares, but when I try to access any of the shares, I
get prompted for a username and password and this is what shows up in
the log.winbindd file

Domain Member Server: Domain Users cannot access shares
Hello to the Samba devs and mailing list subscribers,
I've run into a bit of trouble getting a new domain member server setup.
I've got three Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit VMs running the latest stable build of
Samba built from source acting as Domain Controllers. I've got a fourth
physical machine running Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit running the canonical
distribution samba (Version 4.3.9-Ubuntu)

Domain Member Server: Domain Users cannot access shares
So it seems that I have identified the source of all of my permissions
issues, though I'm unclear as to exactly why these problems have occurred
and would love an explanation if anyone can offer one.
I was using mdadm to create a RAID 1 array, formatting it ext4 and storing
all of the data that samba was serving on /dev/md0. The two drives that
make up the array are hosted by an LSI MegaRaid

Tiering Volumns
Hello everyone.
I have a new GlusterFS setup with 3 servers and 2 volumes. The "HotTier"
volume uses Nvme and the "ColdTier" volume uses HDD's. How do I specify the
tiers for each volume?
I will be adding 2 more HDDs to each server. I would then like to change
from a Replicate to Distributed-Replicated. Not sure if that makes a
difference in the tiering setup.

Announcing oVirt 0.99
=====================
We are pleased to announce the release of oVirt 0.99, a significant step
forward in stability and feature set for oVirt project users.
Some highlights from the change log:
* Improved installer, oVirt Server will now install with an existing
FreeIPA setup present rather than insisting on installing FreeIPA from
scratch
* Anyterm console support --

replace x86 with x64 system and reuse existing LVM
I want to replace an existing 32bit with a 64bit installation (Centos 5).
There's an existing LVM with lots of partitions. Most are used for Xen
guests. The system itself uses only one of them plus a separate /boot
partition that is not on LVM.
What's the best course of action here? Should I do the reinstall with
kickstart or better manually and reuse the existing filesystem? As I

have a hosts allow or hosts deny line in your smb.conf. If you don't
want samba to do reverse lookups, then comment out any allow/deny hosts
lines in your smb.conf file.
