Bug#588406: xen-utils-common: /etc/xen/scripts/block not driving helper scripts; XEN_SCRIPT_DIR not properly set
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.0.0-1
Severity: normal
After upgrading xen-utils-common from 3.4.2-4 to 4.0.0-1, I could not create
a guest domain defined with a DRBD file type. The xm create command would
fail with "Error: Device 51713 (vbd) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts
not working.". After some research I realized the /etc/xen/scripts/block-drbd
helper script was

Bug#591456: xen-utils-common: The script hotplugpath.sh is missing in /etc/xen/scripts
Is there a fix for this in the works/coming for squeeze or do I have to
patch the package myself? If so, how?
Thanks, a grateful Debian user that hasn't patched packages yet!
Steve

Bug#588406: A full year without a fix?
I can confirm this bug still is in squeeze... a full year after being first
reported, despite the fact that it includes the fix?.
I can also confirm that the workaround proposed here works, although I am not
sure that it's the best possible solution, maybe it can be set in some
confoguration file, bit if so, I have benn unable to find it.
AFAICT, XEN_SCRIPT_DIR is a compile-time option,

Ubuntu delta against 4.5.0-1 in experimental for disussion
Hi,
I just finished preparing the Xen-4.5 merge from experimental into our next
release (Vivid/15.04). And something I actually should have done since the 4.4
times is to report back the delta I have in case there are things Debian might
want to pick up as well.
So below is the commented debdiff between the 4.5.0-1 in experimental and the
Ubuntu version I prepared so far (only compile tested on

differences.. (Others with actual numbers please chime in to correct

I think the difference could be more beneficial if you're doing
incremental builds, but I don't think that is what you're doing..
