In the TODO file there's a discussion of perhaps writing a new 'virt-customize' tool. I think it's probably better (or at any rate, easier) to just add this functionality into virt-sysprep. We can use the setfiles(8) command to relabel the guest filesystem, even though we don't have a policy loaded nor SELinux enabled in the appliance kernel. This also deprecates or removes the old and broken SELinux support. This patch isn't quite complete - I would like to add some tests to the new API. I'm posting here to garner early feedback. Rich.

There's not going to be an easy way to present this patch. It's huge and interconnected. Anyway, what it does is lay the groundwork for a new tool which I'm calling 'virt-customize'. virt-customize is virt-builder, but without the part where it downloads a template from a respository. In the kernel and qemu communities it is routine for patches that will be backported to stable branches to be posted for review. I'm proposing we do the same for libguestfs stable branches. All of the attached have been tested with 'make check-release'. Rich.
