dovecot & OCFS2 Cluster
There is a bug in ocfs2 1.4 if you are using it you should be looking for upgrading to ocfs2 1.6 I have several performance problens with ocfs2 but now i guess the problem is the webmail client that we are using. I have several post here about it. I will write a new one as soon as i found the solution. Anyway, why use lmtp over lda ? My setup have about 5000 active acounts all in maildir.

HA-OCFS2?
Is it possible to create a highly-available OCFS2 cluster (i.e., A storage cluster that mitigates the single point of failure [SPoF] created by storing an OCFS2 volume on a single LUN)? The OCFS2 Project Page makes this claim... > OCFS2 is a general-purpose shared-disk cluster file system for Linux capable of providing both high performance and high availability. ...but without backing-up

How to implement HA and Live Migration with a SAN?
Hello, I''ve configured two xen hosts (dom0) sharing a LUN on a SAN. My firs obiective is to run different domU on the two hosts, and implement live migration between them. Subsequently, I''d like to implement HA, so if a xen host goes down, domUs will be restarted on the other one. What''s the better way to obtain this? I think I need a cluster file system to

A Billion Files on OCFS2 -- Best Practices?
We have an application that has many processing threads writing more than a billion files ranging from 2KB ? 50KB, with 50% under 8KB (currently there are 700 million files). The files are never deleted or modified ? they are written once, and read infrequently. The files are hashed so that they are evenly distributed across ~1,000,000 subdirectories up to 3 levels deep, with up to 1000 files

NFS mount permissions
Hi everyone, I would like to move my mails from ocfs2 to an NFS share. As the mountpoint and all folders and files belong to nobody/nogroup, dovecot is only able to access the mails if I give full access to "others". I don't like that. How do you NFS-using guys solve this problem? Regards Patrick

Issues with iSCSI, Hosts Crashing
Two questions (and then a bonus one), kind of interrelated, but, first, some basic info. I'm using OCFS2 on OpenSUSE 10.2, kernel 2.6.18.8(-0.7). There are three nodes in the OCFS2 cluster, backed by Openfiler iSCSI storage. First, I'm using Openfiler and iSCSI volumes to back my OCFS2 file system. The nodes that are part of the OCFS2 cluster use the file system as a shared storage

Unexplained reboots in DRBD82 + OCFS2 setup
We're trying to setup a dual-primary DRBD environment, with a shared disk with either OCFS2 or GFS. The environment is a Centos 5.3 with DRBD82 (but also tried with DRBD83 from testing) . Setting up a single primary disk and running bonnie++ on it works. Setting up a dual-primary disk, only mounting it on one node (ext3) and running bonnie++ works When setting up ocfs2 on the /dev/drbd0

Setting up cluster
Hello, I am trying to setup a simple 2 node cluster in sles10 64bit. This is just for testing purposes to validate one of our iscsi products. I followed the instructions from http://wiki.novell.com/images/3/37/Exploring_HASF.pdf After doing all the xml stuff for stoneith, when I do a mount I see that the iscsi luns are not getting mounted. Moreover, when I do a /etc/init.d/o2cb status, I see

[PATCH 0/3] ocfs2: Inode Allocation Strategy Improvement.v2
Changelog from V1 to V2: 1. Modify some codes according to Mark's advice. 2. Attach some test statistics in the commit log of patch 3 and in this e-mail also. See below. Hi all, In ocfs2, when we create a fresh file system and create inodes in it, they are contiguous and good for readdir+stat. While if we delete all the inodes and created again, the new inodes will get spread out and that

OCFS2 strage freezes
Good day, everyone. I have SAN server build with Openfiler OS, with iSCSI mode turned on. I have two nodes, which connect to that server via iSCSI, using one of two active iSCSI partitions. I've installed ocfs2 1.3.3 with kernel 2.6.23.1, configured it, made ocfs2 partition and was successful in mounting it on both nodes. Everything works just fine, I can upload file from one node and

2 node cluster, Heartbeat2, self-fencing
Hello everyone. I am currently working on setting up new servers for my employer. Basically we want two servers, all of them running several VEs (virtual environments, OpenVZ) which can dynamically take over each others job if necessary. Some services will run concurrently on both servers like apache2 (load balancing), so those need concurrent access to specific data. We had a close look at
