Wine Clipboard Problem
When I try to copy a piece of text from any X application and paste it in application running under Wine (e.g. Notepad), the russian characters (believe any cyrillic characters) got messed up and are replaced by some kind of unicode characters (e.g.\x{043F}\x{0440}\x{043E}\x{0431}\x{043B}\x{0435}\x{043C}\H). The system locale is KOI8-R, using RedHat FedoraCore 1.0 and wine-20040213. Thank you for

Samba as PDC
Hi Guys, I have been running Linux for about 4 years now and currently have setup master controller in a Samba config (security=share) under Ubuntu, moved the DNSMasq off to a Pi box, setting up a DMZ with Apache+ and run a number of laptops with linuxmint and windows for the kids. I came across an issue with uid:gid on the server indicating Nemo does not pick up file ownership from the

Installing a gnome-desktop on CENTOS-6.3 following minimal system install.
I am still trying without much success to get a desktop on my minimal + virtualization install of a CentOS-6.3 kvm host. When I run startx I get a desktop but other than the icons for computer, home and trash there is nothing displayed. I can right click the mouse and from there I can open a terminal window and creat a folder on the desktop but I have no title bar and no status bar. There are

I have two global dataset and I need to correlate - unfortunately one is a 2.5 degree grid dim[longitude=144,latitude=72] and one is gaussian dim[longitude=192,latitude=94]. I would rally appreciate hearing

smbpasswd doesn't work for users
Hello list, I have a problem with users changing their password from the command line of the localhost with smbpasswd. As root the whole thing works fine but not as a normal user. First I had the connection to the localhost refused because I didn't list localhost at the interfaces and had "bind interfaces only" set to yes. (manual smb.conf) I fixed that and added localhost.
