IPSEc versus Multipath routing
Firstly I don''t think this is a shorewall problem, but I suspect shorewall might be able to solve it for me. I''ve posted this so far at http://mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=18942 I''ve stumble upon a problem that has me stumped I have a multipath router using 2.6.8.1 with patches from here http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/#routes basic setup: ___ ISP1

IPtables and Libvirt
Running CentOS 6 I have noticed that Libvirt will automatically configure IPtables once a VM is using the built in NAT , or "default" network. How do I modify the IPtable rules without breaking libvirt's ability to configure these rules? This is the firewall settings on a fresh install with no VMs using virbr0... -------------------------- Table: filter Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)

Conntrack, nat and multipath - what is wrong here?
I have a gentoo 2.6.14 box with 4 nics, LAN/DMZ/PUB1/PUB2 LAN and DMZ have a 1918 /22 each, PUB1 and PUB2 have a /29 each of which 5 ips are assigned. Using the mangle table, I give all packets a mark (according to local policies) in the range 1-10. Using ip rule, i pass marks 1-5 through the pub1 route table, and marks 6-10 through the pub2 routing table. Using the nat table, I SNAT to one

Compiling from source and networking problem
Hey, I was originally asking questions on xen-users but no one seems to have any idea about this so I figured I''d try this list. I compiled Xen from source (3.2 testing) on an Intel machine running Fedora Core 8 and have discovered that my guest (Windows Vista) does not have a network connection. Looking at various online documentation and a machine that does work, I guessed that I

Squid
I''m attempting to setup Squid as shown on: http://shorewall.sourceforge.net/Shorewall_Squid_Usage.html#DMZ The firewall is a Bering 1.0 firewall running Shorewall 1.3.11, Red Hat 7.2 on the server in the DMZ. I''m not seeing the requests come in to the server using tcpdump. The server is 192.168.2.1 connecting to eth2 on the firewall, the local traffic I''m trying to

Proxy Arp Ip Conflicts
I must have something configured wrong somewhere. I''ve enabled proxy-arp on my shorewall 2.0.7 firewall. Works fine for what its supposed to do, I can see all the machines through it great. However, whenever its enabled, the network on the DMZ goes screwy. I''ve narrowed it down to this: when proxy arp is enabled for that interface, like such: echo 1 >

Network inoperable with QEMU arm example image
I am running Fedora 16 64bit and installed libvirt. I have the VM running with arm emulation with this one issue I can't figure out. I used Virtual Machine Manager to manage the VM and can access its console there. The Ethernet appears to be eth1 and the guest can set an IP on it etc. However, I cannot see any traffic from the Host when dumping any of the interfaces. I've tried

virsh migrate ---no route to host
Hi, I am trying to migrate a guest domain from one node to another. I've tried several options of the virsh migrate command, but in vain. It seems to be a networking issue. I wanted to make sure that my setup is correct and that I am not missing anything. I've issued the below command on the source node (n0): [user at n0 ~]$ virsh --connect qemu:///system migrate --verbose

Cannot samba mount a remote windows disk
Hi, I would like to mount a remote windows disk as samba share drive but unable to do so on my host node. I tried it on my instances and it works so i am suspecting that perhaps firewall could be blocking it. Right now i see that the iptables for the host node with KVM installed : iptables -L Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination ACCEPT udp --

Arp Flip Flops make machine inaccessible.
CentOS 5.5 Xen "standard" Xen Installation. I have two nics. I just put the second one to DHCP and modified the ifcfg-et01 and so far I am holding, but I am not confident. Prior they were sequential IP Addrs on same subnet. arpwatch has indicated flip flips. I can find no rhyme or reason to predict them. I know I missed I must have missed a step somewhere. I want to keep the

KVM/NAT help requested
Dear Linux Gurus I'm having problems with KVM and networking. My guest cannot use NAT through the host's connection. This is what I've done: I installed a new version of Centos 6.5 on the hardware. Starting with a Net-Install, I selected the Virtual Hosting, and later added "Desktop". I ran "yum update" with some reboots until nothing needed updating. The

FYI: a short guide to libvirt & network filtering iptables/ebtables use
I just wrote this to assist some Red Hat folks understanding what libvirt does with iptables, and thought it is useful info for the whole libvirt community. When I have time I'll adjust this content so that it can fit into the website in relevant pages/places. Firewall / network filtering in libvirt ======================================= There are three pieces of libvirt

Re: Setting up port forwarding to guests on nat network
Thanks for the reply! output: net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 What do you mean "The out:any and" Anywhere else I can look as to why the connection isn't going? Do I need some kind of listener at that port on the host? I'm not even seeing the packet count on the prerouting chain increase when the connection attempts are made. Setting up port forwarding to guests on nat network
Hello all, I’m currently trying to figure out how to forward ports to guests that are on a NAT Network. I have followed the directions on https://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking under the “Forwarding Incoming Connections” Section and get connection refused when attempting to connect. System: Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 Virsh / LibVirtd Version: 4.0.0 Here’s the contents of /etc/libvirt/hooks/qemu
