How to disable dnsmasq from starting automatically with libvirtd
Hi. I have a machine with a local DHCP server and a couple of virtual networks and I've configured the server for each virtual interface, so that I would be able to install VMs on the corresponding subnets using PXE. The problem is that the two DHCP servers (my local server and dnsmasq) are conflicting with each other causing the boot process to either fails or takes ages untill a VM can

Openvswitch support - port tagging
I was looking at the release candidate of libvirt (0.9.11-rc2) and I have not been able to understand if the openvswitch support includes the port tagging support. So my question is: is it possible to create a tagged port? How? Otherwise, would it be useful to add this functionality? Bug#702337: xen-xapi / Open vSwitch not really working
Package: xcp-xapi Version: 1.3.2-14 Severity: important I chose the Open vSwitch (ovs) networking mode when I installed XCP # cat /etc/xcp/network.conf openvswitch Whenever I boot a VM, I notice that the vif interface is created (e.g. vif1.0) on dom0, and the vif is added to the ovs bridge (I can see it in the output of ovs-vsctl show) However, there is no connectivity, I can't ping the

libvirt, Open vSwitch and iptables
Hi all, We're using since a long time libvirt with KVM guest machines and linux bridges. Firewall rules based on iptables and defined on the host server control inbound/outbound traffic to/from each VM. In order to improve remote administration facility and get extra services, it makes sense for us to replace linux bridges with Open vSwitch. However, the side effect is the solution's

VLANs with Open vSwitch in libvirt 0.10.1
Hello all, I'm trying to take advantage of libvirt's VLAN and OVS support in the 0.10.1 release and consistently getting an "error: internal error corrupted profileid string" when starting a guest. I've defined a network using virsh; the configuration looks like this: <network> <name>ovs-network</name>
