maxNR - Error in p(a, b) : element 1 is empty; the part of the args list of '*' being evaluated was: (b, t)
Hello everyone...
We were trying to implement the Newton-Raphson method in R, and estimate the
parameters a and b, of a function, F, however we can't seem to implement
this the right way. Hope you can show me the right way to do this. I think
what we want R to do is to read the data from the website and then peform
maxNR on the function, F. Btw the version of R being used is "RGui for

How to connect R and WinBUGS/OpenBUGS/LinBUGS in Linux in Feb. 2009
Hi all,
I've managed to get JAGS working on my Ubuntu Hardy Linux with a 32-bit
computer and AMD processors using R 2.8.1. JAGS is great. I've read that
JAGS is the fastest, but that hasn't been my experience. At any rate, I
have more experience with WinBUGS under Windows and would like a version of
that working as well.
It seems like I've read a lot on the subject and tried a

MUSTEK PowerMust 3000 NetGuard RM
Hello,
We are using the equipment "MUSTEK PowerMust 3000 NetGuard RM". That is
using Megatec protocol. But unfortunately not all the data can be viewed
correctly when dumping from utility "upsc".
For example:
upsbox# upsc mustek at localhost
battery.voltage: 108.00
battery.voltage.nominal: 96.0
driver.name: megatec
driver.parameter.pollinterval: 2
driver.parameter.port:

Regarding the Proposal
Dear Mentors,
I am trying to apply for the weighting scheme project and I've submitted a
proposal according to the template few days ago. I think the proposal is
still not good enough, can you help give some suggestions on what else
shall I do more research on&include in the proposal?
Thanks a lot!

R CMD check fails when run in a directory with parentheses in the pathname
For what it's worth: running R CMD check on a package when the outdir
has parentheses in the pathname fails with the following error:
* checking PDF version of manual ...sh: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

[RFC] LLVM Security Group and Process
Hi everyone,
I followed up with some folks at Google about how we wanted to be involved
in this group and we decided that Matthew Riley (mattdr at google.com) would
be the right person to be involved here.
Sorry about the confusion. I'd like to withdraw my request.
Thanks again to everyone involved! I'm glad to see this becoming a part of
how LLVM works. :)

[RFC] LLVM Security Group and Process
Thanks Zola,
I’d rather have point-contact people, instead of having mailing lists. I have a few goals with this:
Listing particular people makes it clear who’s on the hook from your organization
These people can still communicate internally, but are responsible to ensure that the internal folks know what the LLVM process and disclosure restrictions are
Listing a limited number of specific people
