[imap-login] SSL related crashes using the latest 2.2.25
I'm running Dovecot as proxy in front of some IMAP/POP3 Dovecot &
Courier-IMAP servers and in the last couple of days I've been seeing a
lot of imap-login crashes (signal 11) on both 2.2.18 and 2.2.25, all SSL
related. The following backtraces are taken running 2.2.25, built from
source on a test system similar to the live proxy servers.

Patch to log the cipher suite used for TLS
Hello,
the attached patch for Dovecot 2.2.4 improves the logging to include
information about the cipher suite used for a TLS connection. Here is
an example log line:

File permission problems
Hi knowledgeable samba users,
I had to upgrade from samba 2.2.0 on a suse linux server (7.2). Server died after two 2+ years of loyal services - otherwise I would not have changed...
Now I have a samba 3.0.9-2.6 on suse 9.1. I can access the files only r-x, i.e. all files appear as read only.
Trying to trouble shoot I have:
- chmod-ed all the files of all the shares to 777

File permission problem
Hi Mogens,
I'll try more during the week-end but I am sorry all this is not very clear to me (not your fault).
And I cannot reply directly to the news group, I have to go to the crappy netscape mail thing to send this...
Anyway, see below.
Thanks again,
Dominique

We have been working very hard with the Linux-HA guys on this one. It
should be working fairly well.

Shorewall 2.1.2 problem with some shells
If you encounter strange problems with 2.1.2 and are using a shell other
than bash, you might try installing the ''functions'' file from CVS
Shorewall2/. It corrects a problem that I ran into with ''ash''.

Samba 1.9.18 on Unixware 2.1.2, Makefile problem (& solution, sorta)
Hello Samba gurus: I apologize if I'm not following some established
protocol, I'm pretty new to samba and to this list. I just tried
compiling samba 1.9.18 on UnixWare 2.1.2 and ran into a problem with
UnixWare's /usr/ccs/bin/cc: it doesn't deal with the "-o" option in
combination with the "-c" option well at all. It either ignores the
"-o" or

FreeType 2.1.2
I upgraded FreeType to 2.1.2 and it broke WINE.
Is there a simple way to link WINE to: "libfreetype.so.6.3.0" rather
than: "libfreetype.so.6"?
Or, is there some other way to fix it?

Compiler warnings in dovecot-2.1.2 and pigeonhole 0.3.0
I'm seeing a few warnings emitted when building for x86. They're pretty
obvious, but if you want the configure options etc, I can provide those.
In Dovecot 2.1.2 (I also see some of these in 2.1.1):
1) src/lib-index/mail-cache-fields.c
(comparison between two last_used fields)
mail-cache-fields.c: In function 'mail_cache_header_fields_read':

Re: [vorbis] bug in glibc 2.1.2 and older
Hello,
I have solved this problem in the splay mp3 decoder with this:
In the header:
#if (__GNUC__ < 2 || ( __GNUC__ == 2 && __GNUC_MINOR__ < 91 ) )
#warning "inline code disabled! (buggy egcs version)"
#undef __NO_MATH_INLINES
#define __NO_MATH_INLINES 1
#endif
#include <math.h>
In the makefile:
CXXFLAGS=@CXXFLAGS@ -fno-strength-reduce
(Opt level is 2)

Re: [vorbis] bug in glibc 2.1.2 and older
Is there any reason you guys couldn't add a corrected version of the inline(s) to your source? This would allow you to build on busted systems with full performance. You'd still want autoconf to issue a warning about the busted inline, but this would make you independent of it.

Passenger 2.1.2 and mod_rewrite
Hey.
Is anybody has working mod_rewrite with passenger 2.1.2 ? Redirects
work, but rewrites not.
I have rewrite logging on, and it looks like ''local path'' rewrites
just fine, but rails can''t see it.
Thanks.
FaziBear.

Hello,
I forgot:
its a bug in the compiler+Optimisation
not necessarily in the glibc.

Heavy clock drifts inside of KVM guests (qemu-kvm 2.1.2)
Dear list(s),
we are running a cluster of virtual machines on ganeti 2.15.2 on top of
qemu-kvm 2.1.2. Hosts are Debian jessie (Kernel 3.16). We have big trouble
with timekeeping on guests, no matter if these guests are lenny, squeeze,
wheezy or jessie. Clock drifts heavily on some, others are fine. There is
no obvious pattern on which guest this happens and on which not, but it
seems the clock

Samba 2.2.5 and openldap 2.1.2
Hi,
I'm having problems with the current samba releases (2.2.4 + 2.2.5)
and the current openldap (openldap-2.1.2-1) redhat rawhide RPMS. I
suppose samba is having problems with LDAP v3, because when I try for
example:
[root@fatboy /tmp]# /usr/local/samba/bin/pdbedit -l
Bind failed: Protocol error
in syslog appears:
Jun 24 00:52:55 fatboy slapd[14370]: connection_get(16)
