High noise after encoding/decoding procedure
Hello everyone.
I have a problem with a high level of noise after opus encoding/decoding
procedure. If I stream a raw data from the microphone and send it back to
the speakers I hear the clear sound (with a small delay).
If I encode each frame, decode it and send it back to the speakers I hear a
very noisy signal - it is so large, so it is almost impossible to
distinguish words in my speech...

High noise after encoding/decoding procedure
Thanks a lot for your tips.
What I have to done to debug: got the raw wav-file, compressed/decompressed
it on my PC and saved OPUS packets as an array. Moved this array to the
embedded platform and made sure that the frames decoded from the OPUS
packets are the same. However, the high noise level was the same, but it
wasn`t caused by OPUS.
The problem was with my sound bus between an embedded

Where Did The Disk Go???
I'm running CentOS 5.9 x86_64 on a machine I built myself that has 6 SATA
II hard drives (4 - 1 TB drives; 2 - 1.5 TB drives) all in several RAID-1
arrays. These arrays were created when I did the original installation
with CentOS 5.1 and each created partition (both standard and LVM) were
built raid 1.
Due to some things happening around the house that required most of my
attention, I

What's Next
I read somewhere that the PCIe issue is indicative of some other
hardware (PCIe SSD; etc) not working correctly.
Also, the 4.10 kernel is not the kernel out of the box. In a
environment with 10 or more servers do you really want a custom kernel?
How do you maintain all of these custom kernels (i.e. is a different
kernel required for a HP Gen 8 server different than a HP Gen 9
server?)?

This effect can be caused by some data type issues:
- If you are using opus_encode() and opus_decode(), make sure to use
16-bit signed integer samples in the

Bad Line Noise over T1
I've got a system where I'm integrating a Nortel Option 11c with a
Trixbox 2.0.0 system using a Sangoma A101 T1 card. (Running on a Dell
PowerEdge 350)
We've got things mostly up and running and all seems well... except...
If I call from a SIP extension (X-lite soft phone) dialing 9xxxx where
xxxx is an extension on the Opt 11, the call goes through to the Opt 11
but I have terrible

speex_denoise on non-microphone noise (static ?)
Take what I say with a grain of salt: I'm an amateur and haven't actually
touched Speex in any way, yet. I'm just sort of passing on personal belief
from personal experience. Also, check and make sure that the microphone
line is insulated.
There are a number of problems with sound cards picking up interference from
the host machine. The wires that run between ICs on a card

speex_denoise on non-microphone noise (static ?)
Thanks for the speedy response and detailed, enlightening explanation.
Now I understand where the problem is, and will try out your suggestions
just to further confirm my conjecture.
When I am done, I have to take the foil out, though. This is a product
for our customers to use, and although we've got budget for mulffing
every sound card we developers use, most likely the company

speex_denoise on non-microphone noise (static ?)
Understand that it's a *guess*. If this fixes or at least betters the
situation, you're going to need to find a legit way to insulate these cards,
or to switch cards. If it's for customers, I should hope you wouldn't be
using enamelled aluminum foil. :D

CentOS 6 and 389 Directory Server
I'm not sure it this is the correct location to ask these questions, but ...
In the past when I worked for a living the place where I worked had
thousands of RHEL Linux servers on various hardware, but the access was
controlled by Windows Active Directory and a third party piece of
software that was the middle-man between the 2.
Now that I no longer work I'm trying to build a CentOS

And the answer is same as the last X times this has been asked.
When it's ready.
However, they do have a page up so you can track said 'readiness'. It may
lends some info.
