Draw values from multiple data sets as inputs to a Monte-Carlo function; then apply across entire matrix
Hi all, I am trying to implement a Monte-Carlo simulation for each cell in a spatial matrix (using mcd2 package) . I have figured out how to conduct the simulation using data from a single location (where I manually input distribution parameters into the R code), but am having trouble (a) adjusting the code to pull input variables from my various data sets and then (b) applying the entire

Hi, All, If I have a symmetric matrix, how can I get the negative square root of the matrx, ie. X^(-1/2) ? Thanks, Cindy [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

product of successive rows
Hi everyone, I want to perform an operation on a matrx that outputs the product of successive pairs of rows. For example: calculating the product between rows 1 & 2; 3 & 4; 5 & 6...etc. Does anyone know of any readily available functions that can do this? Thanks, rcoder -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/product-of-successive-rows-tp18681259p18681259.html

NAMESPACE and imports
I am cleaning up the rms package to not export functions not to be called directly by users. rms uses generic functions defined in other packages. For example there is a latex method in the Hmisc package, and rms has a latex method for objects of class "anova.rms" so there are anova.rms and latex.anova.rms functions in rms. I use:

I have aproblem about nomogram--thank you for your help
dear professor: I have a problem about the nomogram.I have got the result through analysing the dataset "exp2.sav" through multinominal logistic regression by SPSS 17.0. and I want to deveop the nomogram through R-Projject,just like this : > n<-100 > set.seed(10) > T.Grade<-factor(0:3,labels=c("G0", "G1", "G2","G3")) >

dbetagen function in mc2d package
Hi all, I found this useful package for generalized beta, yet the function that calculates its density leaves me puzzled, especially when I plotted it: plot(function(y) dbetagen(y,4,1.2,min=0,max=40),xlim=c(0,40)) The area between the density curve and the x axis does not seem to measure 1!!! -- View this message in context:

Markov transition matrices , missing transitions for certain years
Hi all, I am working for nest box occupancy data for birds and would like to construct a Markov transition matrix, to derive transition probabilities for ALL years of the study (not separate sets of transition probabilities for each time step). The actual dataset I'm working with is 125 boxes over 14 years that can be occupied by 7 different species, though I have provided a slimmed down

dmultinomial
Hello All, I'm trying to run a maximum likelihood analysis using dmultinomial (i'm avoiding dmultinom as I'd like to run it with vectors for the ML stuff). However, I'm having a hard time getting even the simplest example running. Any help would be greatly appreciated. > library(mc2d) > dmultinomial(x=c(0,0,1),prob=c(1,1,1),size=1,log=TRUE) Error in if (ncol(x) != K)
