Scripting SVG with R
Since now many browsers support (ECMA/Java-)scripted SVG, I am wondering
whether there are already any examples of inserting R code into SVG
documents (or a Javascript canvas?) either directly, or perhaps more
likely through a JavaScript layer, to dynamically generate graphics or
make them interactive?
I am aware of the excellent packages gridSVG and SVGAnnotation, which
facilitate making

Link between Qt GUI and R
hi,
i want to build a Qt front-end GUI which communicates with R, and i am not
sure what i should use for the interface. There seems to be many ways:
R.dll, Rinside, Rcpp, RQt, Rtools... . what is the best way? please advice.
basically what i want to do is that, the Qt GUI will allow users to make
selection and enter numbers, these inputs will be fed to R, already written

libQt5Core.so ver 5.12
Hello,
For the last few days, 'dnf upgrade' on my Centos 8 installation has
been showing problems saying that it cannot install the best update
candidates for packages (kf5-*) because nothing provides
libQtCore.so.5(Qt_5.12). My system shows that it presently has
libQtCore.so.5(Qt_5.11). I've been keeping the system up to date using
the --nobest option in dnf.
I could download

Trying to cross-compile LLVM runtimes to Windows
I suspect mingw is going to be incompatible with Petr’s needs. Adding Nico
as he probably does the most cross compiling. I did it a little several
weeks ago, just not with libc++, and I don’t remember running into any
problems.
One thing that’s not clear to me is why the resource compiler is even being
invoked at all

6.3 missing updates and packages
Hi,
The fact that apparently the last tigervnc update from upstream was
missed triggered me to check for missing updates and packages in 6.3.
Here are my results. Sorry for any false positives that might have crept
in, but note that some of the 6_x updates actually are updates and not a
parsing error. And perhaps an occasional false positive due to having to
compare upstream SRPMS vs downstream

Trying to cross-compile LLVM runtimes to Windows
I have been using this project with great success to achieve this :
https://github.com/mstorsjo/llvm-mingw
It generates a linux-based windows cross-compiler with clang, libc++, etc.
I was able to build a large part of Qt with it afterwards for instance.
Best,
Jean-Michaël

MP4/H.264 codec for Firefox?
Hello,
I am trying to get MP4/H.264 playback in Firefox to work on my CentOS
laptop (for vimeo).
I installed the gstreamer plugins as described here:
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/MultimediaOnCentOS7
(No, I did not install Flash, VLC and all the other stuff. I only want
HTML5 MP4 playback..)
I enabled the nux repos. I did install all available gstreamer plugins,
i.e. -good -bad

Update from 6.5 to 6.6 breaks epel qt5
Just a heads up, if anyone is doing QT development with the EPEL
RPMs, the update from RHEL 6.5 to 6.6 breaks the current qt5 RPMS.
In fact, I had to uninstall qt5 to perform the update.
I've submitted a bug report upstream, so hopefully it'll get resolved
before too much longer. In the interim, you either get to update,
or you get to stop your qt5 development ...

CentOS 6/EPel: Missing EPel package?
The EPel repo has a *nearly* complete collection of QT5 packages. One
important one that *seems* to be missing: qmake.
There does not seem to be a package containing qmake in the collection of QT5
packages for CentOS 6!
I guess I can find the source code and build it (somehow)...

R crashes with large vectors
Good afternoon,
I have been experiencing a lot of crashes working with large vectors in R.
Specifically, I am using XTS of length of minimum 120k elements.
My problem is that I cannot display the vector (otherwise R crashes), I
cannot plot it either (otherwise R crashes). That could be solved by
reducing the amount of points.
However, I have been performing some statistical opreations on is

Graphical User Interface (GUI)
I'd like to create a user interface for my R code and have only seen mostly
older posts on the subject.
I'm not looking for an IDE for development, but something that the end user
of the software would use.
So something that would involve displaying buttons, listboxes, and drop down
menus to a user that will facilitate various actions.
I doubt there is anything Visual Studio-like that

[LLVMdev] ANTLR?
We are looking for an open source C++ parser other than g++ if
possible. Clang would be great but its C++ support is still some way
away and we need something that works or nearly works now. Does
anyone have any experience with ANTLR for parsing C++ and for
extending their C++ parser? Any other feedback on ANTLR in general
would be welcome too. Thanks,
