User can't use SFTP after chroot
Hi,
I've posted this question on ServerFault, but no answer has been found
(http://serverfault.com/questions/431329/user-cant-sftp-after-chroot).
I have version 1:5.3p1-3ubuntu7
To sum up: I want to chroot the user sam. Things I have done:
- add user 'sam' to group 'users'
- added Subsystem sftp internal-sftp to /etc/ssh/sshd_config (at the bottom)
- added a Match :

Hi List,
Happy New Years and I was hoping to get some help on an ssh issue
that I am having. For some reason I am unable to scp to hosts on this
network using RSA keys. Here is what I am doing/what is going on;
scp the public key to remote host

ssh trouble checklist
Hi.
There should be a checklist of everything that can go wrong with
making an ssh connection.
Here's one entry for the list, which I didn't know before, and
* I couldn't see the problem from the -ddd and -vvv output, and
* there were no /var/log/* file entries to give hints.
Here's what I did
sudo kill <pid-of-sshd>
/usr/sbin/sshd
No good.
Usually I did kill

^C doesnt work on ssh session
Thanks Darren, will check on your response.
I am attaching sshd, ssh logs with debug flags. Please see if it gives any
hint:
when I press ^C in ssh session, no log gets printed in both server/client
side.
Best Regards,

amanda backup ssh key
hello list,
I am attempting to ssh via a user account setup for amanda backups
from the backup server to the test backup client. AFAIK everything is
setup correctly yet when I ssh as the user to the client I have to
type the password. the public key is in the authorized_keys file of
the client and permissions all seem correct.
Here is a verbose output of the ssh session

SSH Closes Immediately After Opening
Hello there,
I am having trouble connecting to a ssh server installed with openssh
recently. I have posted about the problem on Superuser, and I will repost a
description of the issue below. If anyone here is able to rescue me from my
deep well of ignorance, I will be very grateful.

ssh hangs up
Hi All,
I set a cron to connect to a a server in every 10 minutes.
Sometimes it hangs up and I can not find why. (Once or twice a day)
I tried to set ServerAliveCountMax 3 and ServerAliveInterval 15 in
ssh_config without any success.
The only way to continue is killing the ssh process.
How can I solve this? Any other ssh option that could help?
What happens or should happen when it hangs?

accepted, but I get disconnected without any error

Possible issue with stdio forwarding
Greetings,
I've been doing a little testing with the stdio forwarding support added
in recent snapshots and have encountered one possible issue. First, I
should say that this feature generally seems to work. However, I haven't
been able to get it to work when connecting to a server running
SSH.COM's product.
The config file I am using is fairly simple:

X11 forwarding not working.
Hi!
I'm having a difficult time getting X11 forwarding to work.
Since I've read the docs completely about this, this must be an SSH bug
which is likely because I'm using Gentoo as the SSH server.
When trying to forward X11 connections, I get
X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.

Openssh for Windows
Is there a OpenSSH server version for Windows 2003 Server? The only
OpenSSH server for Windows I found is version v3.8.1p1-1. However, this
is ONLY supported on Windows NT.
Is there any other openware SSH Server for Windows 2003 Server?

intermittent problems obtaining shell with gssapi-with-mic
Hi,
I am seeing a rather strange issue with openssh-5.3p1 (both client and
server) under scientific linux 6. The systems in question are set up
to authenticate against a Kerberos server. ssh'ing between machines
works fine 99% of the time with the gssapi-with-mic method. But on
occasion an ssh session will fail to spawn a sheel for the user after
authentication. An example -vvv output in this

[Portable OpenSSH] hang up during login after OpenSSH 7.3 upgrade
Hello to everyone, and thank for your job.
I am reporting here about a problem I am experiencing with portable SSH client, version 7.3p1.
My client is an Archlinux system.
I am connecting to an Ubuntu server, which provides SSH with some patches (see below).
It worked until the upgrade to 7.3p1.
This is the produced debug output.
Command line: ssh -v -v -v -v -v -v username at 10.196.37.5

Attached is the very verbose ssh output. Just to be perverse, this time two
nodes lost connectivity. The only thing I see is lines saying that the two
connections are lost, although being honest I have no idea what everything
else means. For reference, 8 ssh cinnections were being made at the same
time for a 8x8mpi task.
N.B., since the OS I am using does not have rsh, I am currently using the

possible bug: OpenSSH appears to freeze on exit
Hello,
I believe I may have discovered what appears to be a small anomoly in
the way
OpenSSH closes connections and thought if I gave you some feedback I
might
be able to make a very small contributution to the development of
openssh.
This might be a Solaris 2.6 anomoly or an openssh anomoly or a
combination of both.
I came across this apparent anomoly because we use openssh (via cron)
