lme problems
Hi,
I'm analysing a dataset in which the same 5 subjects (male.pair) were subjected to two treatments (treatment) and were measured for 12 successive days within each treatment (layingday). Overall 5*2*12=120 observations.
I want to test the effect of treatment, time (layingday) and their interaction. I have done so through the ANOVA below:

Factor moderators in metafor
I'm puzzled by the behaviour of factors in rma models, see example and

outlining (highlighting) pixels in ggplot2
Using the small reproducible example below, I'd like to know if one can
somehow use the matrix "sig" (defined below) to add a black outline (with
lwd=2) to all pixels with a corresponding value of 1 in the matrix 'sig'?
So for example, in the ggplot2 plot below, the pixel located at [1,3] would
be outlined by a black square since the value at sig[1,3] == 1. This is my

So, of course Sum(ps) = 1.

Data arrangement for PLSDA using the ropls package
Hello,
I would like to do a partial least square discriminant analysis (PLSDA) in R using the package "ropls"
Which is in R available via the R command :
source("https://bioconductor.org/biocLite.R")
I try to do a PLSDA to illustrate the impact of two genders (AP,C) on 5 compounds measured in persons (samples) should be illustrated. When I try to do a PLSDA I get the warning

Converting degree: minute: second data to decimal degree data, should be simple
Hi All,
I have location data set up as degrees: minutes: seconds (for example,
122:45:45) I need to get this data into decimal degree form (122.7625).
I know that I need to use the formula
Decimal degrees = Degrees + (Minutes/60) + (Seconds/3600)
Does anyone know how I can get R to do this?
The original data is all in one column (called 'lat') and the degrees, mins and
secs are

Upgrade to latest trunk if you''re getting "undefined method `degree=''"
Facebook added the ''degree'' field to education info. This breaks
user.populate because the ''degree'' field doesn''t exist in the
education history model.
On a side note, if a method calls a dangerous method (ending with !),
shouldn''t it be classified as dangerous too?

Plot degree symbol by itself
Dear all,
I'm trying to plot the degree symbol by itself between two square
brackets. I just want to have "K [?]". So far I got to:
expression(K ~ group("[",1*degree,"]"))
or
expression(K ~ group("[",1^o,"]"))
But it won't work without a number or letter.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

To what degree can Asterisk replace Cisco Unity?
In a CallManager environment (currently 4.0, moving to 6.1 in the next
few months), can Asterisk completely replace Unity
as a voicemail system?
What works and what doesn't? MWI? Call Handlers? Does everything
work via a SIP trunk? Who has done this
and is willing to contact me?
Thanks.

Interpretation of poly(x, y, degree=2) coefficients
Does anyone know of a function that turns the coefficients of
lm( y~ poly(x1 , x2, degree=2))
into something that can be interpreted easily. I was think along the
lines of the matrix representation of quadratic forms:
(x-mu)'A(x-mu) +k ,
and finding the eigenvectors/values of A, and the vector mu, but anything
that allows me to visualise a contour plot would be great.
Thanks

Degree symbol
I have been using both Windows and Linux versions of R so when I have
opened files created in Windows I have found some issues in Linux. One
was that my windows setup allowed me to enter a degree symbol from the
keyboard for labelling axes.
Now I have found that the following expression seems to work on both systems
xlab = expression(paste("Temperature [",degree,"C]")),

Extracting df (degree of freedom) & estfun (estimating function) from model built in lmer or lmer2

Could you please tell me how can I extract the "df (degree of freedom)" and "estfun (estimating functions)" for the following lmer (or lmer2) model?

caret: compare linear models of different degree
I want to use the caret package to train linear models. I want to
compare these models when using different degrees (aka degrees of
interaction). This is possible for the 'earth' method (using the
'.degree' parameter) but I found no possibility of customizing the
degree for the 'lm' method. This might be due to the fact that the basic
'lm' function does not support

Graphlet degree distribution agreement in
Hi all,
I have created my network using igraph package. It provides graphlet
function to calculate number of graphltes. I want to find graphlet degree
distribution agreement of a graph. How can i achieve that..??
The package ergm.graphlets is there in r but there isn't any examples
available for usage of this package.
My R script is:

poly() can exceed degree k - 1 for k distinct points (PR#11251)
The poly() function can create more variables than can be fitted when
there are replicated values. In the example below, 'x' has only 5
distinct values, but I can apparently fit a 12th-degree polynomial with
no error messages or even nonzero coefficients:
R> x = rep(1:5,3)
R> y = rnorm(15)
R> lm(y ~ poly(x, 12))
Call:
lm(formula = y ~ poly(x, 12))
