Using VGAM's vglm function for ordinal logistic regression
R-Experts: I am using the vglm function of the VGAM library to perform proportional odds ordinal logistic regression. The issue that I would like help with concerns the format in which the response variable must be provided for this function to work correctly. Consider the following example: ------ library(VGAM) library(MASS) attach(pneumo) pneumo # Inspect the format of the original dataset

vglm regression with weibull distribution
Dear all, I'm facing a problem in estimation of glm model with weibull distribution. I run this : eqn0<-formula(fdh~cup1+cup2+cup3+cup4+fin1+vd1+cm2+cm4+milieu+cpro1+cpro2+cpro3a+cpro3b+schef+log(y)) regWeib0<-vglm(eqn0,family=weibull,subset(br, fdh<1)) I have en estimation but there is a message saying that regularity conditions are violated : Message d'avis : In eval(expr,

Dear R developers: I am trying to fit a PPO model using vglm from the library VGAM, and get an error while executing the code. Problems and bugs in vgam()
Hello R-Users, I have recently run into several problems using vgam() in the VGAM package. I am hoping someone might have some solutions... Briefly, I have been trying to fit GAM models for zero-altered negative binomial models. 1. When fitting smoothed parameters (e.g. s(X, df=2)) changing the degrees-of-freedom has no effect on the level of smoothing (e.g. number of knots for the

mounting lvm2
CentOS 7 for everything I am probably never using lvm again. I have never not once actually benefited from its capabilities but this is probably the third or fourth time it has gotten in my way. Issue is that I use the tools so rarely that I can't recall what needs to be done to properly mount the drives on another system and finding that info on the web is becoming more difficult as the

Solve equations
Hello, I have a system of five equations to solve with five 'unknows'(V, W, X, Y and Z) and constraints. The equations are: 0.007= 2VZ 0.03= W(Y+Z) 0.034= X(y+Z) 0.013 = (X+W)Y +(X-W)Z X = W+V Constraints: 0<V<W<X 0<Y<Z<1 Does anyone know a R-package to solve this system? Thanks, E-mail: sebastien.puechmaille at ucd.ie

meta questing about the list
Hi fellow list users and admins, I hope it's not absolutely off topic, sorry if so. would there perhaps be a way to improve the usability of the list a bit. Let me explain what I mean. I'm using Thunderbird and it's a whole bunch of little things to watch out for not to produce a suboptimal posting: - don't forget to push SHIFT when clicking on write/reply to make sure it's

[PATCH RFC v3 0/6] x86/idle: add halt poll support
From: Yang Zhang <yang.zhang.wz at gmail.com> Some latency-intensive workload have seen obviously performance drop when running inside VM. The main reason is that the overhead is amplified when running inside VM. The most cost I have seen is inside idle path. This patch introduces a new mechanism to poll for a while before entering idle state. If schedule is needed during poll, then we

Hi all, Assume the following function that generate a random number. z1<-function (n, eta) { wv <- runif(n) wz <- (-1/eta) * log(wv) wz } y <- z1(100,4) mean(y) I want to run this function say 1000 times and I want to count if the mean(y) outside the following range 0.20 to 0.30. How do I do it in R? Thanks in advance

However, when I get login screen and use admin for username/password, it simply redirects me straight back to login screen. Looking at user_log table, the authentication was
