simple plot in ggplot2, wrong error bars
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this, simple problem. I am essentially following the example on Hadley's webpage (http://had.co.nz/ggplot2/geom_errorbar.html), but it still doesn't make any sense to me. df <- data.frame(trt = factor(c("intact", "intact", "removed", "removed")), coon = c(0.093, 0.06, 0.057, 0.09), group =

Anomaly in MIN (MAX) ?
I have observed the following differences in the use of min/max functions between R and Splus (4.5) R (0.64.1): min(c(NA,NA,NA),na.rm=T) returns the following Warning in min(..., na.rm = na.rm) : no finite arguments to min/max; returning extreme. [1] 2147483647 S-Plus 4.5( Win32 edition) min(c(NA,NA,NA),na.rm=T) returns [1] NA The S-PLUS behaviour seems to be the right one Thanks,

Change of parsing parameters to functions between 0.63.1 and 0.63.3 ?
Hi, I wonder whether the mechanism of parsing parameters to functions has changed between 0.63.1 and 0.63.3? The following code yeils different results in R 0.63.1 (Version 0.63.1 (Dec 5, 1998)) and R 0.63.3. cave<-function(x,a,b) { return(c(mean(x[a],na.rm=T),mean(x[b],na.rm=T))) } datx <- data.frame(rbind(c(1,2,3,4),c(4,5,6,7)))

Ggplot2: Moving legend, change fill and removal of space between plots when using grid.arrange() possible use of facet_grid?
Hi, # For publications, I am not allowed to repeat the axes. I have tried to remove the axes using: # yaxt="n", but it did not work. I have not understood how to do this in ggplot2. Can you help me? # I also do not want loads of space between the graphs (see below script with Dummy Data). # If I could make it look like the examples on the (nice) examples page: #

3d surface plot (ideally using rgl package)?
Dear HelpeRs, I would be grateful for anybody who might help to produce the following plot (the code for matlab is below) using the "rgl" package of R? [t,r] = meshgrid(linspace(0,2*pi,361),linspace(-4,4,101)); [x,y] = pol2cart(t,r); P = peaks(x,y); figure('color','white'); polarplot3d(P,'colordata',gradient(P)); view([-18 72]); You may see the code and plot

ggplot2: Controlling line width of panel borders
Dear R-users, i encountered some problems when trying to adjust the line width of the axes and stripes in a plot created with ggplot2. I use the "barley" dataset of the lattice package to illustrate my problem: library(ggplot2) library(lattice) barley[["SD"]] <- 5 limits <- aes(ymax=barley$yield + barley$SD,ymin=barley$yield - barley$SD) p1 <-

black and white in qplot? layout 4 graphs in one screen
Hello, I am trying to plot means and standard errors conditioned by a factor, using qplot. I am successful at getting the bar graph I want with a error bar, however I have tried many things and cannot get the bars to change colors. Currently showing as red and blue, but need it to be black and white for publication. Any suggestions please? Using a data set June, which is str:

Specifying the gap between "dodge'd" bins groups?
I'm looking at ggplot-static\position_dodge.html   For ggplot(diamonds, aes(x=price, fill=cut)) + geom_bar(position="dodge") , is it possible to specify the spacing between the dodge'd bin groupings?    That is, I would like for there to be a small separation (horizontal space) between the "Ideal" and the "Fair" bars on the plot.  That way the reader can get

ggplot2 - how to change location / position of wind rose axis labels?
Dear R users, First just want to say thank you to all for developing such a wonderful software and packages. I need to produce a wind rose plot. Tried with packages circular and plotrix and couldn't quite get what I want. Moved to package ggplot2 and it's going great. However stuck in how to move axis labels. I am using the wind rose from the help to learn how to do what I need (code

ggplot2 rose diagram
Dear R gurus - consider this plot: library(ggplot2) dat <- sample(1:8,100,replace=TRUE) smp <- ggplot(data.frame(dat), aes(x=factor(dat),fill=factor(dat))) + geom_bar(width=1) smp + coord_polar() Q1. How do I change the font size and weight of bar labels (1,2,3...)? I've been wallowing in the 'Themes' structure and I just can't figure out the correct place to change
