Rise of Nations Gold fails to runs
I tried to install Rise of Nations Gold into Wineskin with wrapper 2.3 and WS7Wine1.3.22. I did this on a MacBook Pro Late 2008 (Model-id MacBookPro5,1) running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 fully patched. I followed most of this guide: http://www.damonkohler.com/2008/09/how-to-run-rise-of-nations-with-wine.html, except: -I skipped the symlink tricks because my RoN Gold is on a single DVD image (iso). -I

Hello, I am very new to using wine, so I really don't know a thing about the world of wine, except for that it's currently giving me much headache. Anyway, the question I really want to ask here, is about what's the best Wineskin engine for one to use when installing Internet Explorer 7. As ignorant as I am, I only know to the extent that the newer versions do not work so well on the

Company of Heroes pause and -dev not working
Hi there. I'm using OSX and the latest version of wineskin to run Company of Heroes Gold version, downloaded from Steam. It appears that there is no way to alter key-binds, and you have to use the 'pause/break' button to utilize the in-game tactical pause (stops all action and allows you to issue orders). My mac keyboard doesn't have this button, so I tried using a new logitech

Running Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines graphic bug
Hi all, I'm new to wine, and I've done a lot of reading and searching for a solution to my problem. But nothing seems to work. The game runs fine, only on startup the movies in front of the main menu don't work. And in game characters are teared up. Example: I've tried installing the dll files for directx

Final Fantasy 14(xiv) not working on OSX with 1.3.14
Hello, I noticed recently on the appdb that FFXIV had a silver rating and that most that reported seemed to be able to get it to work, just had to work for it. I started a new prefix. Used winetricks to install xact, ie8, winhttp, wininet and directx9. This got it installed and patched, but when the login screen came up it didn't display any of the image, but I could login. However, on the

ext3 and bdflush tweaking
I apologize if this is off-topic, because I'm not sure if /proc/sys/vm/bdflush has anything to do with ext3 performance or not. However, I've been searching around for a while and can't find the answer I need. If somebody could shed some light, I'd really appreciate it. In "Securing and Optimizing Linux: RedHat Edition -A Hands on Guide", the author gives these values to

Using imap/pop3 with maildir with 7,000 users using mostly pop3. # /usr/local/etc/dovecot.conf protocols: imap pop3 ssl_disable: yes disable_plaintext_auth: no login_dir: /usr/local/var/run/dovecot/login login_executable(default):

tweaking wine - picasa version
Hello, I installed picasa and this installed a customized version of wine too. Picasa works very well and so I have the hope that other graphic editors could work well with this wine-version too. I want to run Photoline32 (available at http://www.pl32.com) I dont understand much about wine and the scripts delivered with the picasa-version are rather complicated - almost unreadable for me ;-)

read-ahead performance translator tweaking with 3.2.1?
Hi Is there a way to tweak the read-ahead settings via the gluster command line? For example: gluster volume set somevolumename performance.read-ahead 2 Or is this no longer feasible? With read-ahead set to the default of 8 like was the case with standard volgen generated configs, the amount of useless reads happening to the bricks is way too high, and on 1 GbE interconnects causes saturation

[LLVMdev] Trouble with tweaking test-release.sh script
I have a native compile and the result seems better... You can compare the result of cross compile [1] and the native compile [2]. Any though? [LLVMdev] Trouble with tweaking test-release.sh script
> I'm not particularly happy about the failures here. We need to get to the bottom of them. In the previous email, you tried setting CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS to -fno-strict-aliasing during configuration. Try setting them during the 'make' command: > > $ make ... CFLAGS=-fno-strict-aliasing CXXFLAGS=-fno-strict-aliasing > > etc. > > If you get failures with that,
