Multiple userdb possible?
Hello, I am running v2.0.13. In my dovecot.conf I have: userdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-usrdb-ldap.conf driver = ldap } passdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-passdb-ldap.conf driver = ldap } Is it legitimate to include multiple ldap userdb's, like: userdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-usrdb-ldap1.conf driver = ldap } passdb { args =

auth: Fatal: No passdbs specified in configuration file
Hi, I upgraded to 20150213 (f10725a5eed8+). I chose LDAP as the authentication source for Dovecot. Compilation succeeds. Starting dovecot from command line : /usr/local/sbin/dovecot -c /usr/local/etc/dovecot/ The error log contains : "dovecot: auth: Fatal: No passdbs specified in configuration file. PLAIN mechanism needs one" It works properly with Dovecot 2.0.9. Any clues or

Overlapping userdb/passdbs
I have an ldap server for which each entry includes the email address and the username portion of the email address for authentication. Authentication works by username if the username is unique among all the entries. I need to now add some users which must authenticate even if the username is not unique. I figured one way to do this would be to add a second user/pass db which puts further

samba w/o openvpn: OK - else strange issues
Hello, I do have a very strange behavior. For some reason, I only observe this, when I access a samba share through an openvpn tunnel. (1) objective have a share, have SECURITY USERS (to control access rights), but NULL PASSWORDS (authentication is fine enough by vpn). Find config files below. This is samba 3.3.2. Openvpn 2.1_rc11. (2) issue I connect via vpn from winXP ... fine I access

imap proxy setup - "killed with signal 11"
hi- i'm setting up an imap proxy in front of a novell groupwise server. it seems to so far be partially working, but dovecot is having trouble in certain cases. i expect that it's ultimately due to what i believe is a very poor implementation of imap provided by groupwise [at least based on other experiences in the past] - but that's a big part of why i'd like to have

zlib_save per-user or per-mailbox?
We'd like to be able to activate zlib_save per-user or per-mailbox, but it seems to be global, all or nothing. Search of this list revealed a comment from Timo in 2012: http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2012-March/064909.html where he was thinking that compression per-namespace would be a worthy feature. Was that done? I'm in the process of replacing a 2.0 system with 2.2 EE. The

Hello I cannot retrieve mail via pop3 using dovecot. I have mail in my mailbox (postfix works fine, maildir contains more then 5 mail files), I use virtual user. I also changed auth to plaintext for debugging purpuse. server: Dovecot 1.0.7 CenoOS 5.4 client: Thunderbird on Kubuntu, username: jure at hrabri.org pass:jure I tried different parameters and was closest to success with this:

I am having some problems and was told to ask in this list to try and get some help. How to avoid "authenticated user not found" - messages when using multiple Ldap userdbs/passdbs?
Following: We've got a Dovecot 1.0.10 running on Ubuntu Hardy. Till now we used to have only mail accounts under our own domain, but since we're also a webhoster the people began to ask if there is a possibility to use there own Domains in there mail address. For addressing this we changed our Ldap Tree Structur: users which had been there befor remain in there old subtree, new

Case-insensitive "detail" mailboxes?
We're using sieve with LMTP. We want to have lda_mailbox_autocreate and lmtp_save_to_detail_mailbox. Is there a way to make the "detail" case-insensitive? If so I have not found it yet. I suppose we could lowercase the input string for the SQL userdb query, but that's not what is wanted. The idea being that if a user makes a mailbox called "Test" is that user+test

multiple passdbs and auth sockets
I have a few systems which run dovecot 1.x as the authentication backend for Postfix, with multiple auth { } sections like this one, each one with a different passdb and its own socket: auth ldap-10 { passdb ldap { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap-10.conf } socket listen { client { path = /var/spool/postfix/private/auth-10 mode = 0666 } } } I need multiple

Authentication process holding open filehandles
Hi, We're using dovecot to provide pop3 for a number of mailboxes. The setup is pretty simple: Each user / domain has a mailstore in /data/mailstore/<domain>/<user>/Maildir (backed by NFS). Passwords are in simple passwd-file format in the top level domain directory eg: # cat /data/mailstore/foo.com/.passwd user:{plain}password The passdb setup looks like this. passdb {

Security hole #6: Some passdbs allowed users to log in without a valid password
This affects only blocking passdbs: - MySQL - PAM, passwd and shadow if blocking=yes The underlying bug exists in all v1.0.x versions, but I couldn't figure out a way to exploit it except with v1.0.11, v1.0.12 and v1.1.rc2. Probably a good idea to upgrade in any case. The main problem is that Dovecot's internal protocols use TAB character as a delimiter, but passwords were sent

Filters in waveslim
Dear R Users, For running wavelet functions using dwt( ), modwt( ), and mra( ), a wavelet filter algorithm is applied. For all these functions, default is "la8" and other possibility is "haar". In related documents, another possibilities like as symlet and coiflet ... are not cited. Besides "la8" and "haar", which wavelet filters can be used? Thank
