Change winbindd UID mapping
Hi,
I'm running Samba 3.6.6 on Ubuntu Quantal.
I have a need to manually assign some of the UID mapping on a samba
domain member file server. I have used tdbtool to add the correct
mapping record to winbindd_idmap.tdb. However, I am at a loss as to
how to force that change to "propagate" so as to show in the
permissions structure of the file system and in the output of such

Cisco 7960 Sounds patchy.
I have gotten the Cisco 7960 working with my Asterisk system under SIP.
The version is 5.03 that I am using. Cisco Support said I should not
upgrade to version 6 yet. My next question is the sound is patchy when
people here me. But I can hear them just fine not patchy. I have the
188 page Admin manual and it seem not to say anything about improving
the sound. All other phones like IPDialog work

Gallery2 under CentOS-5.3
I asked about 18 months ago if gallery2 was available
in any of the CentOS repositories,
and it seemed that at that time it was not.
However, there was some talk of putting it in epel or epel-testing.
But I looked just now, and did not find it there.
I actually installed gallery2 on my server
by following the instructions at
<http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Preinstaller>.
But I've

Switch to Multi-Proc -> Choppy sound?
Hello, everyone
I'm relatively new to Asterisk (and VOIP in general), but I have a
project that it will really help with. So, I setup a test system on an
ancient 400MHz P3 we had lying around. It worked great. I had a test
dialplan working, and had no trouble connecting to it with SIP using 3CX
SoftPhone over our LAN (and over the Net through our NAT).
So, we went ahead and bought a

Newbie question ... fallback mounts
Attached is my config file. The purpose is to interrupt my regular
stream sith a station (stream) ID once per hour (time synchronized
externally).
I use ezstream to play the pre-recorded stream ID.
I never hear the stream ID while listening to the stream. (There is a
10 second break in the stream once per hour) What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Running distributed thinLTO without thin archives.
Thanks!
Question about the final link step:
Do I provide all the object files to the link step, i.e. something like:
clang++ -o thinlto main-native.o lib/lib-native.o src/lib-native.o
Do I need to provide --start-lib markers on that final link step as well?

Sorting records from acts_as_taggable plugin
I am using the acts_as_taggable plugin, which works rather nicely by the
way. My question is this: When using find_tagged_with, how do I sort the
resultant data? It is currently sorting based on the "id" of the record.
For instance, I have posts, with tags. If I want to find all posts
tagged with "RubyOnRails" it displays them, but not in chronological
order, they are

Newbie question about acts_as_taggable
I installed the acts_as_taggable plugin that DHH wrote.
Now I have met problems on using it:
class Book < ActiveRecord::Base
acts_as_taggable
end
mybook = Book.new
mybook.tag_with(''red library book'')
But the system tell the wrong message:
undefined method `parse'' for Tag:Class
d:/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-1.14.0/lib/active_record/base.rb:1123:in

Method in Model
I have a simple method in a model, to send out e-mails via the
script/runner.
def Reminder.dropoff
@messages = Reminder.find(:all, :conditions => [ "time < now()"])
@messages.each do |mes|
Mailman::deliver_send_message(mes)
end
end
However, it''s not sending e-mails.
When this exact code was dropped in a controller, it worked great... is

Terminology
Hello folks,
I''ve blended/updated the Glossary of Terms
(<http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/GlossaryOfTerms>). It seems
the definition of "manifests" is a bit different amongst members.
Some people consider a "manifest" to be a configuration file written in
puppet, e.g. any .pp file. But at my organization, we''ve considered the
