Rcmdr and scatter3d
Hi folks,
I'd like to use scatter3d (which is in R commander) to plot more than one
dataset in the same graph, each dataset with a different color. The kind
of stuff you would do with "holdon" in Matlab.
I read a recent message that was posted to this list with a similar
problem, but I couldn't understand the reply. Could someone give me one
example? How do you plot subgroups

Want to draw 3D cylinder objects
Hello,
I want to draw 3D cylinder objects in R.
Given is the length and the diameter of the cylinder.
Has anybody an example?
Thank you very much!
Best regards

Additional args to fun in integrate() not found?
Hello, fellow Rdicts,
I have the code for the program below. I need to integrate a function
of "x" and "p". I use integrate to integrate over "x" and pass "p" as
an additional argument. "p" is specified and given default value in
the argument list. Still, integrate() cannot read "p", unless I
explicitly insert a numeric value in the

easy way to do a 2-D fit to an array of data?
Hi,
I've got a matrix, Z, of values representing (as it happens) optical
power at each pixel location. Since I know in advance I've got a
single, convex peak, I would like to do a 2D parabolic fit of the form
Z = poly((x+y),2) where x and y are the x,y coordinates of each pixel
(or equivalently, the row, column numbers).
Is there an R function that lets me easily implement that?

Help with readBin
I'm trying to read a binary file created by a fortran code using readBin
and readChar. Everything reads fine (integers and strings) except for
double precision numbers, they are read as huge or very small number
(1E-250,...). I tried various endianness, swap, But nothing has worked so
far.
I also tried on R 64 bit for linux and windows (R 2.14) and R 2.11 on
windows XP 32 bit.
Any help would

orthographic projection of ellipsoids
Dear list,
I've generated a list of 3D coordinates representing ellipsoids in
arbitrary orientations. I'm now trying to obtain a 2D projection of
the scene, that is to draw the silhouette of each object on a plane
(x,y). The only way I could think of is to compute the convex hull of
the (x,y) coordinates of each object and use this as the outline of
the object. This is clearly

[PATCH v2 0/3] ARB_viewport_array for nvc0
This patch-series implements the ARB_viewport_array for nvc0 and does
a little house-cleanig afterwords.
V2:
Add Release-Notes, mark this in GL3 as done for nvc0
Don't mark the scissors dirty when we don't need to do that

rgl how to plot a cylinder like arrow3d?
Dear List,
I'm trying to draw vector in XYZ with rgl under use of a cylinder3d.
Therefore I scale and rotate a basis-cylinder).
However, somehow the rotation is wrong as
verified by overplotting arrow3d().
Where is my mistake?

library(rgl)

rgl update: please test!
(This is bcc'd to a list of people who have had problems with rgl lately
or who are known to be big users; not cc'd, so you don't all get cc'd
all the responses on the R-devel list).
I've just put together a test build of rgl, and put it on my web site as

interactive image graphic
Dear All
I want to plot a kind of figures, which can interactive with user.
For example, i have a matirx which can be showed by image function.
i.e. we can compare the value depend on different colors.
However, the change of colors depend on the range of value.
Nowaday, i want to set a bar, which can be moved by user such that the
user can obtain the appropriate range.
Does anyone suggest me which

confidence ellipsoid for model parameters
Dear all,
Has anyone written functions to compute (and ideally project / plot onto
a plane) confidence ellipsoids for q linear model parameters, q > 2 ?
Greetings and best wishes,

outlining (highlighting) pixels in ggplot2
Using the small reproducible example below, I'd like to know if one can
somehow use the matrix "sig" (defined below) to add a black outline (with
lwd=2) to all pixels with a corresponding value of 1 in the matrix 'sig'?
So for example, in the ggplot2 plot below, the pixel located at [1,3] would
be outlined by a black square since the value at sig[1,3] == 1. This is my

Ploting 3D cylinder in RGL
Dear all,
I would like to draw a 3-D horizontal cylinder preferably in RGL device
(because this gives the look from different angles). Basic idea is from
http://www.tau.ac.il/cc/pages/docs/sas8/insight/chap18/sect3.htm.
Below is the description exactly what I want to do.
Please see at figure 18.6, 1st plot. Here it is an confidence ellipsoid.
Suppose now you put another 4 same ellipsoids on top

How to use mle or similar with integrate?

I have the following formula (I hope it is clear - if no, I can try to

integral(D/sin(alpha) to Inf)
(
(
f(x, a, b)
)
dx
)

and I want to do an mle with it.
I know how to use mle() and I also know about integrate(). My problem is
to give the parameter values a and b to the

is there a way to visualize 3D normal distributions?
Hi all,
How do I visualize a contour of a tri-variate normal distribution?
I just like to see the ellipsoid very much. I hope there is a easy way or
existing method in R.
Thank you a lot!
Michael.

Plotting 3d surfaces
Dear Subscribers,
I am using R for quite a while nowadays on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I a using R
for doing my statistics. Furthermore I am using it as a tool to generate
the graphics for my publications.
I am currently working on a project which involves nls-fits of three
dimensional surfaces such as ellipsoids or even more complex. I have
been searching R help and the manuals for a possibility to

How to plot a 3D ellipsoid in R?
Hey, all
I am going to plot several 3-dimensional ellipsoids
in R.
For example, A is such a ellipsoid with
mean u=[1 1 1]', covariance matrix C=[1 0 .5;0 1 .6;.5 .6 1];
So how can I plot such object in 3D space?
Is there some function to achieve this?
Thanks.

[PATCH 1/3] nv50: rework primid logic
Functionally identical but much simpler. Should also better integrate
with future layer/viewport changes/fixes.
Cc: 10.1 <mesa-stable at lists.freedesktop.org>
Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu>

Not *strictly* necessary in stable, but it will make backporting later fixes
easier. No regressions in piglit.
