Ordering of stack in ggplot (package ggplot2)
I'm trying to reproduce the 3rd graph on the page of this site: http://learnr.wordpress.com/2009/03/17/ggplot2-barplots/ . However, the data below produces a ggplot with the stacks sorted in alphabetical order from the bottom up. I'd like the stacks to be in the order "Europe", "Asia", "Americas, "Africa", "Oceania". Is there an easy way to

using tapply() with the quantile function?
Hi: Summary: I am trying to determine the 90th percentile of ambulance response times for groups of data. Background: A fire chief would like to look at emergency response times at the 90th percentile for 1 kilometer grids in Cape Coral, Florida. I have mapped out ambulance response times on a GIS map. Then I superimpose a regularly-spaced grid over the response times and spatially join the

rgl package and animation
I am trying to figure out how to use rgl package for animation. It appears that this is done using the play3d() function. Below I have some sample code that plots a 3D path and puts a sphere at the point farthest from the origin (which in this case also appears to be at the end of the path). What I would like to do is animate the movement of another sphere along the length of the path

C&C: The First Decade games not working correctly
Hey all, Having a bit of trouble getting the Command and Conquer: The First Decade games to work. Basically, Renegade and Red Alert 2 both work. However, all remaining games don't. Tiberium Dawn complains that a CD is required. Generals, Zero Hour and Tiberian Sun, which is the game I most wanted to play, simply don't play. After opening the program in wine, the splash appears, then

C&C First Decade Installation Problem
Hi, I've been trying to install Command & Conquer First Decade on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.1, but I'm running into a problem which prevents the installation from completing itself. I get a permission denied message when I attempt to autorun the CD, but the installer starts fine when I browse in the disc and click setup.exe. Everything seems to go fine until at the end of the installation

libvirt-bin MOSTLY fails to create default virtual network
I have observed 3 scenarios after I reboot the host with 2 guests (which are supposed to autostart after boot/reboot of the host): 1. Default network is created but I can not ping guests. Gests don't have assigned IP address or they both have IP address 192.168.122.100. 2. Default network is not created. 3. Default netork is properly created and everything works fine. In each case guests are

Dealing with multiple gid changes
So I discovered yesterday that if puppet changes the gid of a group it doesn''t go through the file system and update them with the new correct gid (at least this was the case on RHEL5 and client puppet v2.6.16 and puppetmaster 2.7.12). Now I thought that it might be possible to have puppet execute something like find /home/ -group <old_gid> | xargs chgrp groupname. However

plotting on a reverse log scale
I'd like to do some plots of historical event data on a reverse log scale, started, say at the year 2000 and going backwards in time, with tick marks spaced according to log(2000-year). For example, see: http://euclid.psych.yorku.ca/SCS/Gallery/images/log-timeline.gif As an example, I'd like to create a density plot of such data with the horizontal axis reverse-logged, a

ggplot2, geomtile fill assignment
Dear R help, I have some readings in three dimensions (x, y, z) and an amplitude for each. I'd like to visualize the data using ggplot, using tile plots, as I have some additional point data I would like to eventually overlay on the tile plots. I would like to subset the data by sections, slices if you will, in the z dimension, and plot the data for that slice. I can do all of this, but am

update?
I'm having problems with environments and update() that I expect have a simple explanation. To illustrate, suppose I wanted to make a very primitive Tukey one-degree-of- freedom for nonadditivity test and naively wrote: nonadd <- function(formula){ f <- lm(formula) v <- f$fitted.values^2 g <- update(f, . ~ . + v) anova(f,g) } x <-
