Fortran and long integers
Hi all, I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable in Fortran than I can chime in with opinion. I'm the maintainer of the flashClust package that implements fast hierarchical clustering. The fortran code fails when the number of clustered objects is larger than about 46300. My guess is that this is because the code uses the following construct: IOFFSET=J+(I-1)*N-(I*(I+1))/2 where N is the

Network IP address
Hello all, Quick question. Our network has NO connection to the internet (the way we want it) but we are using 66.2.x.x as our IP addresses. However, I am now reading that 192.168.x.x is the preferred naming convention. If I leave as 66.2.x.x will I have problems with Samba? Because I dont connect to the Internet do I need to change? Thanks in advance and hope Mr. Gerard O'Reilly Intranet

Problems with samba 2.2.4
Dear Sirs. I have here running samba 2.2.4 compiled on Redhat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.17 with ACL support on EXT3 (http://acl.bestbits.at) and winbindd. Winbind works. I can ssh as a NT4 user and use samba network shares as a NT user without username mapping. (no German special characters, no spaces in user name). 1. In smb.conf veto files = /quota.*/lost+found/.*/ doesn't work 2. In

code works in R desktop but not iin RWeb - I got it working
Hi, I got this working. i had to get rid of an underscore in one of my variable names to work on RWeb. Thanks for your help though!! Natalie __________________ I think you have to be either honest or careful, since the code you submitted to Rweb is different with your former code! Clustering Large Applications..sort of
Hello all, I am using the clustering functions in R in order to work with large masses of binary time series data, however the clustering functions do not seem able to fit this size of practical problem. Library 'hclust' is good (though it may be sub par for this size of problem, thus doubly poor for this application) in that I do not want to make assumptions about the number of

Hi the number of cpu cores that you see with top times 512Mbyte is the level of ram that's needed e.g. a hp-gen8 with 2 octo

Repeated Measures/Linear Mixed Effects function
I have three columns of data, Xc, Trt and fish. This was a repeated measures design with 6 measurements taken from each of 5 fish. Xc is the actual measurement, Trt is the treatment, and fish is the fish number. Data can be seen below (hopefully it is in the column format). I would like to look for differences between treatments in a repeated measures format. I used the following code

SIP - SIP over PBX no audio when canreinvite=no
Hello list, I am trying to solve a problem and after unsucessfully chasing forums and google for some hours, I turn to you in hope of a solution. I feel it's just a configuration issue but I just can't get my head wrapped around it. The situation is basically this: I have an Asterisk connected to an Alcatel OmniPCX via SIP. Asterisk only ever does SIP and has no dedicated hardware

how do i retain decimal values
Hello, I am trying to do a spearman correlation. My data has tied values. To overcome this issue, I am adding some random noise (values) to my original data. However when I add the random noise to the data, the final matrix does not show the new values. I guess the reason being that the noise I add is very small and the full value including the decimals gets truncated to show only the value
