PLS Error message
Hi, I work with hyperspectral remote sensing data and I try to built a pls model with this data. I already built the model but if I try to calculate the RMSEP and R2 with a test data set I get the following error message: Error: variable 'subX' was fitted with type "nmatrix.501" but type "nmatrix.73" was supplied The problem is that I don't get the message for

untar() error
Dear List, I have a list of 600+ *.gz files that I would like to extract and read the geotiffs contained within them. I tried using the untar() function to simplify this task but I am stumped by an error. I've combed the Internet for a solution without luck. The details are below, and any help in solving this matter is appreciated. > files = list.files(path = "J:/GIMMS/NDVI",

Different behavior of median and mean function - Why?
Hi together, below is a small example which produces outcome I do not understand, namely that the median function works fine on a data.frame without negative numbers, but doesn't work on a data.frame with one negative number. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for that or better, that I'm doing something wrong and someone could guide me how to solve it. I tried googling it,

samba_backup
Hallo, i tried to backup samba4 by using the samba_backup script. I removed ?>/dev/null 2>&1?-Pipe from the tar-commands. Tar could not archive the temporary msg-files, because they where open. My question is, do I need the temporary msg-files for a complete samba4 database-backup? Thank you. tar: ./private/smbd.tmp/msg/msg.31043.1: socket ignored tar:

Breakpoints and non linear regression
Hello, I have done some research about breakpoints (I am not a statistician) and I found out about the breakpoint, strucchange and segmented packages in R allowing to find breakpoints assuming linear model. However, I would like to fit a periodic time series with a non linear (periodic) model, and I was wondering how I could find breakpoints for this model in R. Is it even possible ? My model

Problem with ddply in the plyr-package: surprising output of a date-column
Hi Together, I have a problem with the plyr package - more precisely with the ddply function - and would be very grateful for any help. I hope the example here is precise enough for someone to identify the problem. Basically, in this step I want to identify observations that are identical in terms of certain identifiers (ID1, ID2, ID3) and just want to save those observations (in this step,

Matching Problem: Want to match to data.frame with inexact matching identifier (one identifier has to be in the range of the other).
Hello R-Community, I have the following matching problem: I have two data.frames, one with an observation every month (per company ID), and one with an observation every quarter (per company ID; note that quarter means fiscal quarter; therefore 1Q = Jan, Feb, Mar is not necessarily correct and also, a fiscal quarter is not necessarily 3 month long). For every month and company, I want to get the

convert variable types when creating data frame from cor.test results
Dear list, The below dataset and code creates a new dataset with the results from the function cor.test being performed on each individual ('Individual_ID') from my original dataset. How do I convert each variable from the cor.test results to a numeric data type, as it is passed into the new dataframe? For example, 'estimate', 'p.value', and 'conf.int' should be

calculating correlation coefficients on repeated measures
Dear list, I have 9 repeated measures (measurement variable == 'Delta13C') for individuals (ID variable == 'Individual_ID'. Each repeated measure is "indexed" (right term?) by the variable 'FeatherPosition' and given as c('P1', 'P2', 'P3', 'P4', 'P5', 'P6', 'P7', 'P8', 'P9'). I would like to

Random data stale error
Hello, after some time monitoring my installation to see how its working, I found that some ramdom times, like one or two days in a week, the driver fails to start and upsmon keeps registering a "data stale" error on Windows' event log. I've set the NUT service to "delayed start" to see if it was a driver conflict on the system start rush, but it keeps doing it

Identifying records with the correct number of repeated measures
Dear list, I have a dataset where we sampled multiple individuals either 1 or 9 times. Our measurement variable is 'Delta13C' (see below sample dataset). I cannot figure out how to efficiently use a vector command (preferably) or a loop to create a new vector of the names of the individuals sampled 9 times. Note that the 'FeatherPosition' variable will only be "P1" for

How to create a loop and then extract values from the list generated by cor.test
Dear all, I would like to conduct a Pearson's correlation using cor.test separately for each individual in my data set. Each individual has nine observations of the measurement variable 'Delta13C'. I can figure our how to do it manually one 'Individual_ID' at a time, but I cannot figure out how to automate the process (a loop I am guessing). In addition, I would like to

I'm new to NUT in Windows, having problems with blazer_usb doing an UPS shutdown

Hi Mariusz, I found this thread at SAMBA.ORG: snip... I can't remember for certain, but try using a relative path. > (e.g. vscan-mksd.so). I tried relative and non-relative path, with this same effect but you've right because in manual for samba-vscan we can read that in samba 3.0 we should use relative path. I had increase debug level of samba daemon and in my log I have found

NUTDRV_ATCL_USB driver on Windows
Hello again! I'm the guy from the blazer_usb shutdown problem the other day. Now I moved on installing the system in another work PC with another kind of rebranded UPS. This ups is a double battery 1000VA "UPS" brand. Device identifies itself as "ATCL FOR USB" on device description. Blazer_usb seems to identify it as compatible but fails at sending commands. Further

dovecot & vpopmail
Hi! Authentication works, but default_mail_env = maildir:/usr/local/vpopmail/domains/%d/%n/Maildir/ is translated by the "imap"-process to /usr/local/vpopmail/domains//testerhorst/Maildir/ although I succesfully log in as testerhorst at elektropost.org. Is there a manual how to use dovecot with vpopmail? We have here: FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE, vpopmail-5.4.0 and dovecot-0.99.10.4_2.

rsync to multiple destinations
I am looking for a way to start one rsync command with multiple destinations. My use case: I have one (slow) usb drive which should be synced to two other harddrives. It would be great if rsync could read one file which is to be copied to both hard drives only once, so the slow usb connection is used more efficiently. Any idea or is this a wishlist "bug"? Thanks

copying between shares
this seems to be a bug and not a security issue having two shares on a samba server but on different disks it is possible to copy/delete a file from one share to another but not to move (using a win98 workstation). Using the same disk moving is possible. Some time before it was possible and Windows made the copy. Now it seems the samba-server has to copy and doesnt. this is samba 2.2.0.15,

Windows: SHUTDOWNCMD stopped working after Creators Update
Hi all! All was working fine with all my UPSs and Windows 10 machines, NUT will notify events to NOTIFYCMD (which point to a .bat script to show messages) and finally will shutdown the system via SHUTDOWNCMD, that is another .bat file that simply uses shutdown.exe to hibernate the system. Today I upgraded all my machines to the latest Creators Update, and now NOTIFYCMD works as I can see

Contact closure UPS?
Hello again! I'm yet again the guy from the blazer_usb problem and the ATCL one too. This time I have a third UPS (the last one In my collection) that i'm trying to make work instead of the ATCL one since there's no driver for it on windows. This UPS is another no-brand box (actually it is a "kozumi", but that's just a rebrand), and apparently it's much more basic
