upsonic IRT1000 on ubuntu 14.04lts
Can someone give me a push in the right direction with this? I'm trying to get an upsonic IRT1000 to work on ubuntu 14.04lts using the usb connection. The most likely drivers (blazer_usb and usbhid-ups) don't seem to recognize it or I've got the configuration parameters wrong. I've got no idea what driver it actually wants though there's an old thread that seems to have got

[HCL] PowerShield Defender 1200VA supported by blazer_usb (mustek subdriver)
Hi Team, I've been experimenting with getting the PowerShield Defender 1200VA UPS working and it appears to be supported by the blazer_usb driver, although it did not have the correct permissions within udev to load the driver as the non-root user after an RPM install on Fedora Core 16. Well, 2.6.5 is from August 2012, so it's not the newest. And eventually, we would like people to switch to the shiny new nutdrv_qx driver which is in 2.7.1. But I'm pretty much guessing here

Upsonic PrOffice 650 usb/serial
Hi, I recently installed a Upsonic PrOffice 650 UPS, which is a cheap model[1] available in Australia. It has a serial and USB port, and comes with a note saying WinPower software can be downloaded from [2]. Investigation of the software shows it to be Java with native libraries for serial and USB. Disassembling various classes reveals it talks at 2400 baud, and has a protocol similar to

It's a pretty fundamental design flaw, although it isn't uncommon among USB devices aimed at the Windows market, and to their credit, it does make implementation and deployment simpler on Windows. Neither the FreeBSD

Thx Charles, So since this is a new type of UPSonic UPS, do you think the vendor screwed up or is it just some quirk on Freebsd? Yes, if you can look into this I would appreciate it.
