Hi. I'm trying to cross compile dovecot. My desktop machine is an AMD64 box with bells and whistles. The ARM based machine is a network attached storage box. When I run "make" always get x86_64 binaries. My OS is Gentoo, so I have been able to build using emerge a variety of other programs from source. What am I doing wrong here. (Gentoo doesn't have Dovecot for the arm) I

I am trying to compile sshd 3.8p1 on Tru64 UNIX V4.0F Patch Level 7. Previously I've compiled the entire 3.6.1p2 distribution with no problems. The problem seems to occur when linking sshd. The linker is unable to find xcrypt and shadow_pw functions (openbsd-compat/*.c). The libopenbsd-compat seems to have built without errors. Hello, I'm trying to compile a static openssh-server, simply by running: export LDFLAGS=-static ./configure make sshd but the linker shows the warnings I've quoted on the bottom of this mail. The warnings say that I cannot use NSS functions when statically compiling. This makes sshd not work because at runtime, every call to getpwnam returns 0. Do you know a way to compile openssh

Hello, I going to use ssh with Kerberos V5 support along with support for AFS. I don't want to use Kerberos V4 or AFS token passing. The only thing I need from AFS is creating an AFS token (using appropriate function from krb5 API) after user's authentication. It seems to me that such scenario is not much supported by the current code. Rather it is assumed only Kerberos 4 will be used

Linux has just raised the NGROUPS_MAX limit from 32 to 64k. In doing an audit of various tools, openssh turned up as having incorrect groups handling. Almost no user-space apps really care about NGROUPS_MAX. A proposed patch (untested, since the CVS build won't compile on my RH box.. :-/) : What think?
