R CMD INSTALL cannot recognize full path on Windows
Thanks, Jiefei, unfortunately your example does not work on my system, and also it is far from minimal. The error message you are getting is from Windows and could be caused for example by accidental quoting of the path using single quotes. Issues with RStudio or devtools would have to be discussed in their mailing lists/with their authors, but my guess is that the problem is in your local

R CMD INSTALL cannot recognize full path on Windows
Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I see what you mean. I have removed all unnecessary files and dependences on https://github.com/Jiefei-Wang/example, but still no luck. I've tried to install the package as a user, not admin, but I got the same error. Also, I apologize for spamming the mail list. I will keep my reply as neat as possible. Martin has suggested checking the encoding of the file

grid.arrange, grid.layout - legend, global y axis title
Hello, I created several plot with ggplot2 dev mode. Now I want to combine the plots in a grid e.g. 2x2 with a fixed size of the output. What I am doing at the moment is: grid.newpage() pushViewport(viewport(layout = grid.layout(nrow=2, ncol=2, widths = unit(c(7.5,6.5), "cm"), heights = unit(rep(5, 2), "cm")))) print(plot1, vp = viewport(layout.pos.row = 1,

passing extra arguments to devtools::build
This question was posed on SO : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/58118495/passing-extra-argumenets-to-devtoolsbuild but there has been no useful reply. Something seems to have changed in the |devtools|package, so that the following commands, that used to run now give an error I can't decipher: |>Sys.setenv(R_GSCMD="C:/Program

Truetype and Opentype font in pdf device
Deal all, I want to know if truetype or opentype fonts are available in pdf device (i.e., pdf() or dev.copy2pdf()), and if so, how to do it? Now I can do as followings: 1. convert ttf to afm using ttf2afm, e.g.: $ ttf2afm Impact.ttf > Impact.afm 2. put the afm file in $R_HOME/library/grDevices/afm 3. register a new type1 font: pdfFonts(Impact=Type1Font("Impact",

Mystifying SEGFAULT on 3.2.3 but not 3.2.2
Dear R developers, (Apologies about previous incomplete e-mail, I fat-fingered a keyboard shortcut)?? I recently upgraded to 3.2.3 and am getting mystifying errors with my in-development code (available at https://github.com/gertvv/gemtc/tree/feature/regression). Will Devtools-1.1 or later become part of SCL?
I've already installed devtools-1.1 from Tru Huynh. http://people.centos.org/tru/devtools-1.1/ Thank You Tru. gcc 4.7.2 is so much newer than stock 4.4.7. (much better C++11 support) Why is devtools-1.1 not officially part of CentOS SCL? I know devtools-2.0 still has issues but 1.1 would bring us on par with Debian 7.0. http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/SCL

R CMD INSTALL cannot recognize full path on Windows
Jiefei, you did not commit all files into the example package - your example has things like RcppExports.cpp as well as additional flags which are not in your GH project. I suspect the issue is with the extra flags you're adding - those don't come from R. Please make sure you can replicate the issue with the GH package you created. Cheers, Simon * installing *source* package

Possible problem with namespaceImportFrom() and methods for generic primitive functions
Hi all, I have a problem with a package that imports two other packages which both export a method for the `[` primitive function. I set up a reproducible example here: https://github.com/kforner/namespaceImportFrom_problem.git Basically, the testPrimitiveImport package imports testPrimitiveExport1 and testPrimitiveExport2, which both export a S4 class and a `[` method for the class. Then: R
