PXE boot hangs after trying to load cfg/<max address>
Hi,
i'm trying to get my VIA Epia with VIA Rhine ethernet device to boot
PXELinux. I have done this before, but now i can't get it to work.
The machine loads pxelinux.0, i see some messages. But it fails just
after trying reading the first config file (the one with the mac
address). It kinda says this (transcribed):
CLIENT IP: 192.168.1.23 MASK: 255.255.255.0 DHCP IP: 192.168.1.93

Hello. I recently installed Rails on Gentoo, and did a "rails

*seemed* to work fine, but when I clicked on the "View your

How can I dial *67 on a Sipura 3000 if I dial from a SIP phone

[Bug?Report] ldapsam duplication of output if two ldapsam sources
Goog morning,
First of all, my setup :
- Samba 3.0.1pre1 to Samba 3.0.1pre3 (RPM home recompiled from samba.org
SRPM);
- OpenLDAP 2.0.27 (stock RH9) + Solaris RootDSE patch, all on RH9;
- Two LDAP servers (one master, one slave, replication of all the base);
- Samba setup as PDC + BDC, using Samba3 LDAP schema.
I noticed a few days ago in the NT4 srvtools that the first query (when

This command is incorrect: the -e option needs a command.

ldapsam authentication methods
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if ldapsam supports authentication methods other
than a simple bind to an ldap server?
I've read through the documentation, but couldn't find any mention of
other authentication methods.
thanks,

ldapsam:trusted=yes, 'user in passdb, but getpwnam() fails'
Hello all,
I am working with samba-3.5.6 on Debian Squeeze.
From the smb.conf(5), I assumed that, by using 'ldapsam:trusted=yes',
one can avoid touching the NSS/PAM configuration. However, I am getting a:
user in passdb, but getpwnam() fails
in the logs. Is my assumption wrong?
Regards,
Joe

smbd slow to start when using ldapsam backend
Has anyone else experienced a nominal delay when starting smbd when the
backend is ldapsam? I have noticed smbd slower to start after rebooting
my linux box. The logs don't seem to reveal any errors. If anyone has
experienced this and solved it, kindly enlighten me.
Thanks in advance,

Compile problem RedHat 7.1 with-ldapsam
Hi,
I downloaded the latest CVS code for samba-2.2.2 (HEAD) and
configured with the --with-ldapsam option. I'm using
RedHat 7.1 and have openldap-2.0.11-8 and openldap-devel-2.0.11-8
installed.
The compilation stops with the error:
passdb/pdb_ldap.c: In function `ldap_open_connection`:

[OT] Adding InetOrgPerson schema when using ldapsam:editposix module
Hi,
I admit that this is OT, at least slightly.
While I've successfully used the ldapsam:editposix module in
conjunction with the "net sam" and "net rpc" toolchain, which provides
me with both the POSIX and the Samba account info for each account
stored centrally in an LDAP DIT, I would like to have the info related
to an InetOrgPerson as well.

invalid SID in passdb on stand-alone file server with ldapsam
hello!
I got some log message I can't explain. when I log in to a server it says:

It's a standalone file server, no domain, and the password backend is

Thanks. Just to see if I got your point correctly, you mean to disallow searches
involving the uid attribute in the base context for the Samba admin proxy DN,

ldapsam:trusted work?
Samba 3.0.21(and 'a'), AIX 5.2.
Was looking as what appears to be a fantastic optimization, but can't find info in source code or swat and turning the option on makes smbd do exit(-1) (on AIX anyway).
ldapsam:trusted = yes
Does this really exist? Does it need a maintainer? Are there any docs/source?
Cheers,

Hi,
I've been unable to get samba to work with ldap over ssl or tls on a
solaris 9 machine. I thought that the ldap in solaris 9 supports tls
natively now. However I still get the error in my log file :

win2ksp2 "cannot load profile" from a --with-ldapsam domain controller
Apologies if this is well hashed-over, but I searched pretty dilligently
on the web and mailing list archive and couldn't find the answer. I even
stumped my resident samba guru (hi Sean).
Server is Red Hat 7.3. Tried with both the Red Hat 7.3 rpm just recompiled
--with-ldapsam as well as the samba.org src.rpm also recompiled with
--with-ldapsam. Things work for the most part, people are

Hello,
This morning when entering a windows box I noticed my Network Admin

this samba PDC.
Checking the server with "smbgroupedit -vl" returns:
