nv50 dxt / s3tc
flightgear now dies with :
Mesa warning: external dxt library not available: texstore_rgba_dxt3
util/u_format_s3tc.c:66:util_format_dxt3_rgba_fetch_stub: Assertion `0' failed.
I don't really understand what these stubs are about, they were
introduced by following commit :

Status of s3tc patent in respect to open-source drivers and workarounds
Hi radeonhd, nouveau, mesa3d developers,
Firstly, thank you all very much for all the important work you do.
I've been working as a part-time developer on the "Spring RTS" project
(open-source game engine) which runs on linux (and other os). Some time
ago I tried the engine on the open-source ATI radeonhd driver, which I

Disabling S3TC support for Wine 1.1.14 How do I patch?
I may be an absolute noob for asking this, but I've been at this for about 3 hours now.
So I've been trying to disable S3TC support so I can play this game without getting scrambled graphics. My search lead me to the code for a patch listed here http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=19211 My question is, what do I do with all that code? how do I get it into my current version? Do I

this is still WIP, but already passes piglit's s3tc-teximage, s3tc-texsubimage and fbo-generatemipmap-formats(s3tc tests)
and even Wolfenstein:Enemy-Territory works on my nv25. It's based on Ben's newlib branch. I have few issues though:
1) So far it needs libtxc_dxtn, but I might expose the s3tc extensions even without encoder using driconf option -
Is that desirable?

Double Buffer in Medieval II ?

total wine noob here - please spell things out a bit...
the error i get that stops me from from loading medieval II is

I was also irked by these blanket statements, so I tested it myself. I
reproduced the issue on Intel hardware (so it has nothing to do with
nouveau!) and it was fixed by installing the s3tc library as Ilia
suggested.
So find out how you can install this library for your distribution.
For Fedora the library can be found in the rpmfusion repo and is
called libtxc_dxtn.

_mesa_init_texture_s3tc() vs util_format_s3tc_init()
I am trying to understand the s3tc init code as nv50 gallium has a
problem with that.
It looks like some drivers (r300g and llvmpipe) actually inits s3tc in
two places :
./src/mesa/main/texcompress_s3tc.c _mesa_init_texture_s3tc()
./src/gallium/auxiliary/util/u_format_s3tc.c util_format_s3tc_init()

cd problems?
Hi, has anything else noticed that as of sometime late last year games like
jedi academy and call of duty have been broken?
I had played COD1 and JKA under wine in gentoo and slackware for years
but it seems something has changed in how wine does it's cd drive stuff.
I can mount and install either with the installer included with the game
with
either the loki installer or the normal

that the problem is with your drivers, given Nouveau's notorious
OpenGL-related issues. I would suggest giving the proprietary Nvidia
drivers a shot and see if that fixes it.

and I am trying to play Dynasty Warriors 6 Demo
which shows the below error
On googling i found that i need set doublebuffering in winecfg
but i have no doublebuffering option in my winecfg.
Now, How do I run the demo?

Games don't work on Ati radeon 3650
Hi everyone
I have a problem with running 3d games on wine. Compiz and Linux native games work.
When I run game the screen goes black and i hear sound from game intro. Then it crashes. [Crying or Very sad] I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy AMD64

USB-joystick not detected
Hi,
I am using a CH Flightstick gameport-stick converted by a gameport-usb converter
(Rockfire). This works well under OpenSUSE Linux 10.1, ie. with FlightGear.
When I try to use this joystick with Wine wine-0.9.24 it is not detected with
two running (with keyboard) sims: Fly!II and A320 Simulator.
I also set a link # ln -s /dev/input/js0 /dev/js0 as suggested in other posts.

I think to fix bugs in this case would be easier then let Unity- or Unreal-program run, because the Godot engine is OpenSource (MIT-license):
