Issues with Legend symbols
Hello forum! I am currently having trouble getting R to recognize one of my pch characters. Here's what I have: legend(120, 40, c("SAL-arterial", "SAL-portal", "GLP-1-arterial", "GLP-1-portal"), bty="n", col=c("black"), pch=19:15:21:22, pt.bg="white", pt.cex=2:2:2:2, lty=1, lwd=2, text.col="black", cex=1.3) Now,

Break in the y-axis
Hello all, I have been having trouble getting a break in my y-axis. All of my data points are up around 100-200, but the graph has to start at zero, so i would like to remove all the white space using a break symbol. I have been able to get the break and labels to be correct, however, I can't seem to get the data to match the axis anymore. I must be using the axis.break() in plotrix

Conexant fax/modem not faxing with sendfax
I finally picked up a "real" modem (not a winmodem) and put it in my machine. I pulled down the hsfmodem driver from the source, got a license and installed the driver at full power. If I use wvdial, I can get out through the modem, so I know that works. However, sendfax is rejecting the fax capability (from /var/log/sendfax.log): 11/30 00:31:52 sendfax: interim release 1.1.33-Apr10

Datos longitudinales

Hwo to disable the polling function of mac_srs
In crossbow, each mac_srs has a kernel thread called "mac_rx_srs_poll_ring" to poll the hardware and crossbow will wakeup this thread to poll packets from the hardware automatically. Does crossbow provide any method to disable the polling mechanism, for example disabling the this kernel thread? pairwise cross tabulation tables
Hi, I have a huge number of categorical variables, say at least 10000, and I put them into a matrix, each column is one variable. The question is: how can I make all of the pairwise cross tabulation tables efficiently? The straightforward solution is to use for-loops by looping two indexes on the table() function, but it was just too slow. Is there a more efficient way to do that? Any guidance

advanced tabulation
i make me thoughts about a "advanced tabulation" package similar to commercial software products like Quantum or Wincross. Before i'm beginning to fight with coding - is in the mailing-List anybody doing something similar in the past and have a good starting point and/or suggestions for me ? My purpose ist to define for a dataset headers (i.e. sex,age-groupes..) which should

cross tabulation: convert frequencies to percentages
Hello, might be rather easy for R pros, but I've been searching to the dead end to ... twsource.area <- table(twsource, area, useNA="ifany") gives me a nice cross tabulation of frequencies of two factors, but now I want to convert to pecentages of those absolute values. In addition I'd like an extra column and an extra row with absolute sums. I know, Excel or the

efficient is.na tabulation?
I am aware of table(is.na(df$var)) but is there an efficient way of create a table that shows the number of missing values in each variable of a data frame? Right now I am forced to create a new variable, varna<-is.na(df$var), for each variable of the data frame, bind them to a new data frame and tabulate it, but surely there is a simpler way? any help is greatly appreciated, angelo

Cross-tabulation Question
