Libreoffice.org "official" RPMs in yum friendly format
I thought I "spammed" here as well last night when I sent to the SL list, but appears not. Sorry for the noise. Anyway, for those of you interested to run the RPMs from the libreoffice.org tarball instead of the stock packages, I put them all in a repo. More on this here http://www.nux.ro/archive/2012/04/LibreOffice_org_RPMs_in_a_yum_friendly_format.html Thanks to Ljubomir,

Yum dependency failure installing latest LibreOffice
I've been bashing my head on the wall for 2 or 3 hours for something that should be (and has been, in the past) simple. Trying to install the latest LibreOffice downloaded from Libreoffice.org. I had 6.0.1.1 and downloaded 6.4.0.2, and kept getting dependency errors: --> Running transaction check ---> Package libobasis6.0-base.x86_64 0:6.0.4.2-2 will be installed ---> Package

USB thumb drive for CentOS 7.7 to install
I took the "everything" iso and did the dd command to my 16G thumb drive. I booted and entered my usual ks=http://xxx on the boot line. All good so far. It gets my kickstart file and installation begins. At some point it says Installing libreoffice-opensymbol-fonts (492/1948) Retrying download of 1:libreoffice-opensymbol-fonts-5.3.6.1-21.el7.norarch then after 10 retries it fails. I

Steam for Linux Fedora 17 -> CentOS 6.x
Can somebody contact "Spot" and ask him if Steam for Linux can be compiled on CentOS 6.x? http://spot.fedorapeople.org/steam/ or will someone try it from src rpm's (same folder)? or is someone willing to take over building the rpm the old fashioned way from https://github.com/xvitaly/steamrpm ? I am to relocate to another town for new job and can not afford the spare time :-/

LibreOffice 4.0 on Centos 5.9
I've just installed LibreOffice 4.0.0.3 on my Centos 5.9 system. the previous version (3.4.x) was working fine. But 4.0.0.3 won't start up. When run from a terminal it prints: no suitable windowing system found, exiting. Is this yet another case of apps moving on beyond compatibility with the older components in C5? Or any hints for making it work? Thanks! -- ---- Fred Smith --

A desktop Centos remix
Hello Centos users! I'm doing a Centos 6 desktop oriented remix called Stella. This has been brewing since the summer and it's starting to get ready. :-) I've backported a lot of packages from Fedora and Rpmfusion and I bundle several other repos, too, resulting in a big range of software available, including but not limited to: LibreOffice, VLC, MPlayer, Shutter, Arista, Java,

Passing password to script for rpmsign of list of .rpm files
I am trying to automatize signing of unsigned .rpm files. My repo has at least 50 x 3 packages. But I would have to type numerous passwords for each file. I can not see hot to pass pass phrase to script. rpmsign --resign {--pass=??} <filename from list> ???? Can someone advise me how to do that? Ljubomir

libreoffice 5 slow after 7.3 update
Hello all, After the update to 7.3 libreoffice (5.0.6.2-3.el7.x86_64) became unusable slow. For an excel file with 250 rows even a simple scroll takes a few seconds, during that time the Xorg server is 100% working and the GPU utilization is at about 77% (from NVIDIA server settings). I have tried disabling the hardware acceleration (options->view) and OpenCL (options) but the problem and

RHEL/CentOS 7 Dual boot with CentOS 5.x/6.x - default boot quick solution/howto
I have RHEL 7 Beta installed in dual boot with CentOS 6.x. Since RHEL 7 installed GRUB2, I had problem that RHEL 7 is default boot. My personal solution was to go to /etc/grub.d and run command: mv 10_linux 31_linux grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg Explanation: - /etc/grub.d is where grub2 writes down config files used to create boot menu. - OS-prober creates 30_os-prober file in
