Problem with wine and Firefox, Thunderbird or Seamonkey...
Hi all,
I Use thunderbird and firefox, and sometimes Seamonkey on my job (onto windows 7, 64 bits) and at home (under Ubuntu 11.10 64 bits), so for that, I use Wine, which was very nice until few weeks when I had error message and that doesn't worked more...
For this use, I use portable software (from portable apps), and I already post my problem on other forums

clicking on link in Thunderbird fails to open page in Firefox
This worked fine for years until I updated firefox and thunderbird
recently. Now, however, when I click on a link in an email in
thunderbird, rather than open the indicated webpage in firefox, nothing
at all happens.
network.protocol-handler.app.http in tbird's about:config specifies the
executable /usr/lib/thunderbird/open-browser.sh and running the latter
at the CLI with a URL as an

Thunderbird does not follow url links in Firefox
Since the recent update from firefox2 to firefox3 the links in my mails
do no longer work. No window pops up. After some debug I found the
problem. Let's share it with others that experience the same problem:
I'm using Thunderbird 2.0.0.17 (manually downloaded, that might have
caused the problem, I have not tried with 1.5)
I'm using Firefox 3.0.2 (yum installed CentOS 4.7)

Firefox and Thunderbird freeze/crash followed by "nfs4_reclaim_open_state: Lock reclaim failed!" syslog messages
I was afraid someone would say that :-). I am currently at
3.10.0-862.3.2 and downgrading to a 3.10.0-6xx kernel breaks some of the
other packages.
Is the mentioned bug documented somewhere?
Cheers
frank

Thunderbird and Firefox 10 font rendering
Hi.
I just upgraded to CentOS 5.8 and got Thunderbird and Firefox 10, and I
regret it already... I find that reading texts in these new versions is
much more straining to the eyes than it used to be, as something must
have changed with the font rendering - simply put, all letters appears
to have a yellowish halo or "ghost". I'm sure the colour is an optical
illusion, but again,

RHEL/CentOS bugfixing policy for LibreOffice, Firefox, Thunderbird?
Hi,
RHEL/CentOS releases 5.x, 6.x and 7.x are all shipping reasonably recent
versions of Firefox ESR, Thunderbird ESR and LibreOffice. Until recently
I've been using Slackware Linux as a base system for client's desktops
and workstations. Since my primary aim is reliability, I always tried to
opt for the most stable releases, so for example I'd rather go for

Call for Firefox 3.6.1 and Thunderbird 3.0.1 testers
Hi,
I have made complete rebuild and backport of Firefox 3.6.1 and
Thunderbird 3.0.1 to CentOS 5. Packages come with language packs,
debuginfo packages, xulrunner etc. I'm looking for QA testers. Upgrade
from distro versions works pretty fine.
Thanks,

Firefox and Thunderbird freeze/crash followed by "nfs4_reclaim_open_state: Lock reclaim failed!" syslog messages
Hi,
since I updated my workstation from CentOS 7.4 to 7.5, Firefox and
Thunderbird (both 52.8.0, from CentOS repos) regularly freeze (or crash)
and cannot be restarted afterwards. Trying to start them results in a
"Bus error (core dumped)" (Firefox) and "Killed" (Thunderbird). The
system log then shows:

Firefox, Thunderbird crashing X Centos 5.11
I cannot start Firefox or Thunderbird ever since I tried to put in a new
graphics card.
I had trouble with the configuration on this machine, which has two
monitors. Once the new card was in I decided to change the configuration
from cloned to spanning screens. I messed up and didn't save the old
working configuration. Along the way, I wondered if the new card didn't
have a problem and I

Firefox and Thunderbird 2.0, Centos 5, and rpms
I am making some progress on my Centos 5 notebook build.
So I am looking at Firefox and Thunderbird 2.0.
Should I install them? Or is Redhat correct that there is nothing
improved here and wait for 3.0? (well I have not even had a chance to
look at Thunderbird 2.0, that is new)?
I have the install steps we covered here back on 2/2/07; but are there
rpms? I did not find anything over at

I *really* dislike the new photon UI. I WANT the arrow buttons top and
bottom of the scrollbars.
Does anyone know how to bring them back, or is that "that's *sooo* last
year, you can't ever have them again"?

Making Wine Firefox the default browser
OK, I see posts all over the place for the opposite problem -- people want wine apps to open their linux default browser. But I have the opposite problem. I use a piece of software (GradeQuick) that only runs on Windows (and Mac sometimes when it feels like it). But it runs by first opening the web page which called it (www.edline.net), and it will not run through Linux. So when I click,

Secret of Monkey Island SE, steam on wine, crashes on start
I'm wondering if anyone can help me?
I'm trying to run Secret of Monkey Island special edition in Steam on wine with Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat. I can install steam and use it to install the game (after it installs directx), apparently with no problems, but when I try to run the game, a window opens saying "Preparing to launch The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition".
