FTS solr issue with second private namespace
Hi all, I have just stumbled over an issue with the FTS plugin of dovecot. For our primary namespace, INBOX and its subfolders, searching works without any problems but in a second namespace, which I have created for old/archived mails, searching of the mail text/body does not work. I can see the search request in the tomcat log but no result is created and the mail client (Thunderbird) keeps

Re-indexing of fts-solr not working
Hi, I am currently testing a 2.1 dovecot setup with fts-solr. Search speed is simply amazing. I decided to try to delete and rebuild the solr indexes, but i can't seem to rebuild them thru dovecot. At first, when telnetting to the imap server, the search initially built the index, and then subsequent searches are blazingly fast. 1- I deleted all the solr indexes with the following query:

/usr/bin/id behavior since CentOS 5.2 upgrade
Hi list, Since the upgrade to 5.2, when I log into my server with a ldap account I have these 2 errors messages: -bash: [: =: unary operator expected -bash: [: -le: unary operator expected After investigation, the trouble come from two scripts in /etc/profile.d: /etc/profile.d/krb5-workstation.sh /etc/profile.d/vim.sh The problem is with the test where the command "id" is involved,

apache mod_authnz_ldap: multiple servers syntaxes
Hello, I'm trying this here first before moving to the apache list. Maybe someone of you use mod_authnz_ldap with multiple ldap servers declaration for redundancy. With one server declared it is working. Here is what I've tried for adding another one (space separated as read in the apache's doc) : .... AuthLDAPURL

Dovecot 2.2.34 FTS-SOLR = inconsistent results
Hello, I'm trying to figure why I have inconsistent results with my fts-solr powered search: My test is to find the string "am5oocobey9hait5Wiex8yohgoob9thu" in the 3 emails containing it that I sent to myself: - Directly on the server: doveadm search -u username text am5oocobey9hait5Wiex8yohgoob9thu e2c58a3093235153110800003ea484a8 7937 e2c58a3093235153110800003ea484a8 7938

Several files's checksum change without reason
Hi list, I'm a bit worried here. On a server, Centos 4.3 fully-patched SELinux activated, Osiris (a decentralized scanner for files changes on distant servers) signaled me several changes on files who were not (at first sight) affected by a recent update (the list is below). Is there a logic explanation for those changes to happen ? The "rpm -Va" command does not output md5sum

SOLR quick and dirty how to - needs review/testing
Hi, I just wrote a quick and dirty how to. But not sure, if that is done the way it should. So any kind of feedback is welcome. http://www.roessner-network-solutions.com/?p=1127 At least the stuff does not break things here :-) Kind regards -Christian R??ner -- [*] sys4 AG http://sys4.de, +49 (89) 30 90 46 64 Franziskanerstra?e 15, 81669 M?nchen Sitz der Gesellschaft: M?nchen, Amtsgericht

panic fts_solr for bad attachment
Hi! I use dovecot 2.1.7 on Ubuntu 12.10 with fts_solr und decode2text.sh for indexing attachments. This works great in general. Just for one user there is a problem with an unknown bad attachment. I run "doveadm index -A '*'". After a while I receive: doveadm(xyz): Error: fts_solr: Invalid XML input at line 1: mismatched tag doveadm(xyz): Panic: file solr-connection.c: line

doveadm not working
Hi, I know I must have done some misconfiguration, but I do not know where to start searching for. All began when looking at my weekly cron message, where doveadm purge -A is run. That fails. So I tried doveadm quota -A as well, which several weeks ago was working perfectly. Example: doveadm quota get -A doveadm(root): Error: User listing returned failure doveadm: Error: Failed to iterate

File/folder permission issues in 2.1.3
Hi, I figured out that Dovecot does not honer secondary groups with auth/auth-worker (??), if doing LDAP/TLS stuff. I had to use file system acls to add the user "vmail" to /etc/ssl/private and to the corresponding key file: doveconf -n # 2.1.3: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.32-40-generic-pae i686 Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS auth_master_user_separator = * auth_mechanisms = plain

Installing Dovecot on Gentoo
Hi, I have an already working dovecot server on Ubuntu 10.04 with self-created packages version 2.1.13. This setup is working prefect. Now that I do not wish to continue using Ubuntu (to much work for Upgrading), I decided to switch to Gentoo, as I had made best experiences in the past? I have installed Dovecot on Gentoo and I copied over all my configs and certs and stuff. Also created a user

I have followed Ralf's Blog and there a two Problems: I need to do this: ls -la /var/run/dovecot/config srw------- 1 root root 0 May 14 11:06 /var/run/dovecot/config chown vmail
