Unexpected parameter problem using rsaga.geoprocessor() {RSAGA}
Hello,
I discovered SAGA, an interesting free GIS, a few days ago and now, I
would like to use it from within R 2.6.2 using the RSAGA package. I read
the documentation for this package and thought that I understood it
correctly for trying to call some of the SAGA modules. For getting the
information on the usage of and arguments required by the SAGA command

Help with nested loops
Hello-
I need to loop through a directory of files to extract data corresponding to
dates in a dataframe. Within a function, I've written nested loops to index
the dataframe dates, and the directory files. My function successfully
extracts the data corresponding to my first data frame date, but stops there
and doesn't continue through my entire list of data frame dates and
directory

make an own (different) color legend with spplot()
Hi!
Is there a way to manually costumize the color legend in an spplot() -
especially where to draw ticks and labels for the ticks?
The reason I'm asking: Usually spplot() automatically divides the data
into fitting slices and makes a color legend (also automatically).
I want to assign the slices myself and have a fixed scale instead of an
automatic/dynamic scale.

Hardy 64 bit and Package Support
Hi All,
Not a new R user, but new to R with Linux, specifically Ubuntu Hardy
Heron 8.04 64bit.
I have had success installing common packages using the typical R
interface (in Linux), but have had problems installing less common
packages like (rgdal) and (RSAGA) that are not loaded with R. I'm
wondering if there are any tricks to these libraries that won't
install, from reading the

Best way to render KML files using RXML templates
I want to produce google maps KML files which are baiscally XML files
with a KML extention. I''m using restful routes and respond_to. The
best way I''ve found is to use
respond_to do |format|
format.kml { render :action => "kml" }
will render a kml.rxml template I have but really I want to have
action.rxml rendered for kml files.
Is there are way to acheive this,

How can I save plot()/points() using SHP files into KML format?
Hi,
I am new to R and am a very basic user. I'm importing SHP files, adding
plots of random locations within my polygon (these files have GPS data), and
then want to save these plots (intact with added points) as KML files to
look at in GoogleEarth (or possibly as SHP files which I can then convert
into KML).
This is as far as I've gotten (code below) and am lost as to next steps,

Generating kml lines output
Dear,
I would like to generate kml file with lines (<LineString>) of
different style (definitely color, but width would also be nice to
see). However with kmlLine from maptools package I am able only to
output the single first Lines object (first row of
SpatialLinesDataFrame)
I guess the option would be to have single Lines object (instead of
list of them), but then also the style

Compatibility issues between Matrix and kml
Hi the list,
I am the maintainer of the package kml. I quite often receive some email
about a specific bug. The answer is always the same, I tell people to remove
the package Matrix, and then kml works fine.
I wonder what my code is not compatible with the Matrix package. Here is a
(simplified) version of the kml code :

Compatibility issue between lme4 and kml (operateur "[")
Hi all,
There is a compatibility issue between the package 'lme4' and my package
'kml'. I define the "[" operator. It works just fine in my package (1). If I
try to use the lme4 package, then it does no longer work (2). Moreover, it
has some kind of strange behavior (3). Do you know what is wrong? Any idea
of how I can correct that?
Thanks for your help

Change panel background color in spplot()
Hi!
How does one change the background color of the map-panel in spplot()?
Example:
library(sp)
data(meuse.grid)
gridded(meuse.grid) = ~x+y
spplot(meuse.grid, "part.a")
How would I get another background-color for the map-panel (but not for
the whole plot) here?
Thank you!

REML option in gstat
Hi, please help!!
I've been trying to fit variogram models using the REML method in the gstat
package. Every time the Windows GUI crashes. For example
library(gstat)
data(meuse)
x <- variogram(zinc ~ 1, ~x + y, meuse)
v <- vgm(140000, "Sph", 800, nug = 10000)
plot(x, model = fit.variogram(x, model = v, fit.method=5))
Other fit methods are non problematic (eg. fit.method=7
