Here is what I've tried: I've followed the instructions here: http://rattle.togaware.com/rattle-install-mswindows.html I had R installed already. I downloaded the GTK+ packages, unzipped the 32 bit one into c:\gtkwin32. I put c:\gtkwin32\bin in the system variables PATH. I launched R, installed the rattle package, called

Dear List, I would like to ask about package RGtk2 with which I have a problem. I will very much appreciate if somebody could tell me what I need to do. I need to install a package scdMicro and it depends on gWidgetsRGtk2. I am working on MAC, version 10.5.8. When I try to load gWidgetsRGtk2 (or RGtk2), it asks me: "Instal GTK+?" I installed Gtk+ from CRAN, and added a path: export

R-2.12.0 hangs while installing some packages on FreeBSD
I am working with R-2.12.0 on FreeBSD 9.0-CURRENT for a while now. I successfully installed more than 300 packages (most as dependencies of others). There are two packages I am not able to install: RGtk2 and rggobi. For example rggobi builds fine and after that it wants to load: ------------------------------------------------------ # R CMD INSTALL rggobi_2.1.16.tar.gz [..SNIP..] gcc

rattle(): unable to load shared library
Hi I'm trying to install the rattle GUI on winwos 2000, with last version R 2.10. I had a first problem using the rattle package, as it was asking pkg XMl, which is no more in the CRAN repo. I instead simply install in R/libraries the XML pkg from: http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/RWin/bin/windows/contrib/2.10/ Maybe I mised something here... So now I was able to run the library(rattle) then,

Odd tcltk and Rattle interference on MS/Windows
Hi Graham, Your guess is right. The event loop stuff is handled differently on Windows than on Unix-like OSes. There is a hook, called tcl_do that is hard-coded into the R Windows GUI. It is called whenever the console is idle. RGtk2 is able to hook into that to process GTK+ events. The problem is that the two packages replace each other's handler. So in this case tcltk is blocking GTK+ from

RGTK2 and glade on Windows - GUI newbie

I've surfed through the R- an Omegahat-Pages, because I'd like to use RGTK2, GTK 2.10.11 in combination with glade on Windows XP (perhaps later Unix, Mac). I've found a lot of different information. Because of the information I'm not sure, if this combination is running on Windows XP and I'm unsure how it works. Is
