Dear List, Java Exception error while reading large data in R from DB using RJDBC. I am trying to read large data from DB table(Vectorwise), using RJDBC connection. I have tested the connection with small size data and was able to fetch DB tables using same connection(conn as in my code). Please suggest where am i going wrong or alternate option to solve such issues while reading large DB

Hi List, I am reading table from postgres database into R session using RJDBC, table contains 150 columns and 200000 rows. collection_select validation problem
I''m trying to assign a parent foreign key value using collection_select from my child "new" form. The problem I''m having is if I do not make a selection, I get the following error instead of the Rails validates_presence_of error: You have a nil object when you didn''t expect it! You might have expected an instance of Array. The error occurred while evaluating

How to wrap my (working) code in a loop or function? (loop/function newbie alert)
Dear R-helpers, I have split a dataframe into a list with five elements, with the following code: > datalist<-split(data,data$UNIT) I would now like to run some code (below) on each element of the list to extract rows from the list elements; then I would like to rbind the extracted rows into a new dataframe containing all of the extracted rows from all of the list elements. I don't

hello all: I would like to thank those who helped me out of the string problem..but now I got another problem. I used R to query from SQL and got a list of crsp_fundno of G-style mutual funds which is still alive. I use the following codes and got what I want: library(RODBC) channel<-odbcConnect("CRSPFUND") g.crspfundno<-sqlQuery(channel,"select crsp_fundno from Fund_style

The RSQLite version of dbGetQuery drops colums
Hi all, I just noticed (the hard way of course) that when a query returns 0 rows, the columns in the resulting data.frame get dropped as well. See the following example code (where conn is an active connection to an SQLite db): > dbGetQuery(conn, "select 1 as hey, 2 as ho where 1") hey ho 1 1 2 > dbGetQuery(conn, "select 1 as hey, 2 as ho where 0") data frame

RSQLite 0.6-7 -- changes to dbGetQuery semantics
RSQLite 0.6-7 has been uploaded to CRAN and should hit a mirror near you in the next few days. This version changes the behavior of the dbGetQuery method to make it more consistent with dbSendQuery. Specifically: 1. dbGetQuery now closes a complete result set as dbSendQuery does. 2. If there is an incomplete result set open, dbGetQuery still opens a new temporary connection, but now issues

Rjdbc dbGetquery execution error
Rjdbc consistently gives me an execution error with postgresql 9.0s JDBC4 driver. It's probably something trivial so am including my code below: library("RJDBC") param <- 249 param2 <- 188129 postgres <- JDBC("org.postgresql.Driver", ".m2/repository/postgresql/postgresql/9.0-801.jdbc4/postgresql-9.0-801.jdbc4.jar") con <- dbConnect(postgres,

Segfault in deliver server
Hi Timo, Hi list, I finally got along to test the current dovecot 1.2 with our Kolab Server. And I'm very excited to see all the cool ACL and shared name spaces stuff upstream, thanks a lot Timo! Anyway I just stumbled across a new bug using our metadata-plugin (which in turn uses the dict back end): Making a few annotations requests after another it stops working. dovecot.log sais

Copying multiple files to multiple locations
Hi, I''m, still relatively new to Puppet, so there might be something I am overlooking. Anyway, my situation is that I can install 1 or multiple tomcat instances on a machine, and in order for me to ensure that they can talk to all databases we run (test environments) I want to copy all DB drivers into each instance. So basically I have a defined type for my tomcat instance, which

Thoughts about extlookup: http://blog.wl0.org/2011/05/thoughts-about-extlookup-in-puppet/
Hi, I have been trying to improve the coding of some of my puppet recipes and had some trouble so wrote this: http://blog.wl0.org/2011/05/thoughts-about-extlookup-in-puppet/ Comments on the web seem to indicate that extlookup() solves "all problems" but I don''t really see that and hence have proposed a possible way to keep the data closer together and make the extlookup()

Question about templates from variables
I''m running into an issue trying to do something like the following: class test { file {"test": content => template(''mytemplate1'',''mytemplate2''), } } class test::test2 inherits test { File["test"] { content +> template(''mytemplate3''), } } So, basically I want the inherited class to tack on another
