winbind group membership
Hi.
FreeBSD 8.2
Samba 3.5.11 from ports
I have an issue with group membership. id shows only small part of the
groups a user is member of. I'm aware about UNIX max group issue, but
this isn't related to it - for example for a user which is member of the
6 griups id shows only 3. Although wbinfo -r shows correct number of
groups and wbinfo -G is able to successfully translate UNIX

(Fwd) vfs_recycle and create mode 770
I'd like to use the recycle as a per machine recycler using the option
'name = .recycle/%m' (because we just use some usernames
without passwords, and not because of the adminstrators abilties, but for a better
workflow with a lot of different projects and people working on them.)
But if a directory is created the vfs recycle uses the rights 700, and i have found
no way around it

Probably a bug in samba audit
Hi.
I got this email-address from BUGS.txt file of the samba distribution.
I read it carefully.
I got configured and working samba, I work with samba above one year.
I still have a problem, and, according to the samba log output, I think
it's probably a bug.
When I try to use the shares with audit support, I have my Far

I have that

samba4 and squid with NTLM auth
Hi.
Samba-4.0.7
FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT
Besides serving files I'm using Samba to authenticate users in the
Windows AD with squid.
After having issues with samba 3.6.16 I decided to see if samba4 will
fit me more. I was surprised, but I found that Samba 4 is fully
functional in my environment and is nearly production-ready.
After that I tried to setup squid to use samba for NTLM authentication.

Fwd: Download Asterisk
No it's not broken, I just did a CVS update recently.
Try downloading from CVS and then and if you have
problems quote the error messages in your e-mail.

Local mount of Win shares.
Hi,
I have Samba server working just great.
Is there a way I can work the other way around, I mean - can I mount Win shares in the Linux?
Something like, making /shares/whatever see the files on //WinMachine/sharename?
This could be good for backing up the files from the Windoz with the Linux box.

Did I get hacked?? strange log info...
I noticed I got a strange connection from what seems to be a user in
italy?!? and he connected to my SMB client maybe??
I'm assuming the errors in his logfile (
http://68.48.247.187/log.gustavo.txt ) not finding the service.c file are
because he is being denied access.. but how is he connecting in the first
place.. And why isnt he being refused by my servers hosts.deny file...?
