isolinux: Generate GPT and Mac bootable images
EFI systems typically don't support booting off ISO 9660 filesystems, even if written to USB sticks. This patch adds support for generating a GPT that covers the stick as well, with an additional partition entry pointing purely at the secondary El Torito image. When burned to CD the secondary El Torito will be used as an EFI boot image, and when written to a USB stick the GPT partition

Announcing a patch series for isohybrid.c
Hi, following will be 6 patch proposals for isohybrid.c 1: Encode GPT partition names as UTF-16LE 2: Correct blocking factor in APM partition block counts 3: Correct end block address of first GPT partition 4: Write GPT backup to the very end of the image 5: Change all fseek(3) to fseeko(3) 6: Introduce option --mbr and make isohybrid.c compilable standalone If the form needs adjustments,

[PATCH 2/6] utils/isohybrid.c: Correct blocking factor in APM partition block counts
The block counts in the APM partitions assumed 512 bytes per block, whereas the start block numbers assume 2048 as announced in the APM header. This change divides the affected block counts by 4 to correct the assumption. --- utils/isohybrid.c | 10 +++++----- 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-) diff --git a/utils/isohybrid.c b/utils/isohybrid.c index c5b4281..7d0864e 100644 ---

[PATCH 1/6] utils/isohybrid.c: Encode GPT partition names as UTF-16LE
The worst sin of isohybrid.c was to compose GPT partition names by 8-bit characters and to memcpy() them as if they were 16 bit wide. GPT names are encoded as UTF-16LE. It is trivial to create this encoding from 7-bit ASCII. This change introduces two byte arrays with the desired UTF-16LE names which replace the string constants "ISOHybrid ISO" and "ISOHybrid". ---

isohybrid.c, problem reports and questions
Hi, i am currently exploring the boot data of Matthew Garret's Fedora LiveCD. For that i read utils/isohybrid.c from git resp. 4.05. (I assume Matthew used options --efi --mac --type 0 .) Some stumblestones showed up: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- In initialise_gpt() i see unhealthy usage of string constants. Like: memcpy(part->name,

[PATCH] xenstore-stat v2
The entries in xenstore have permission attributes. The attributes can be easily altered by xenstore-chmod, however, I cannot find a easy way to see them. I''ve modified xenstore_client.c to raise a new utility. The utility checks the permission and makes an easy-look output. Please tell me any suggestions. Thanks. isohybrid.c patch: to support hex parameters

isohybrid: slint64-14.1.iso: unable to find mac efi image
HI, In http://slint.fr/misc/MacBoot/ you'll find all context information. All files referenced here are stored there. Long story short: once dd-ed on an USB stick the ISO image can boot on a BIOS or EFI machine, but I want it to be able to boot on most x86_64 Macs with an EFI firmware. Unfortunately I get the error message: isohybrid: slint64-14.1.iso: unable to find mac efi image The

Hi, > Unfortunately I get the error message: > isohybrid: slint64-14.1.iso: unable to find mac efi image This is probably due to El Torito Platform id "Mac" in -eltorito-alt-boot -no-emul-boot -eltorito-platform Mac \ -eltorito-boot isolinux/macboot.img \ This caused in the image http://slint.fr/misc/MacBoot/slint64-14.1.iso platform id 1 with the third image. Virtio ballooning support for Lguest
Hi, I am doing working on enabling Transcendent Memory(OLS '09) support on lguest. For the same, I need ballooning support for lguest. Is there an implmentation of Virtio Balloon driver, that I can use for my purpose? Could someone give me an insight, as to how to go about, for implementing this myself, incase I dont find this patch... Thankyou. -- Gaurav Kukreja +91 997 030 1257

[PATCH 0/5] vringh
This introduces vringh, which are generic accessors for virtio rings (host side). There's a host-side implementation in vhost, but it assumes that the rings are in userspace, and is tied to the vhost implementation. I have patches to adapt it to use vringh, but I'm pushing this in the next merge window for Sjur, who has CAIF patches which need it. This also includes a test program in

Trouble using virStream with callbacks
I am trying to write a simple app which connects a channel obtained from virDomainOpenChannel() to stdin/stdout (based in part on the snippet at [1]). However, it seems like the data received back from the stream is delayed by one iteration. It would be hard to explain this by simply showing the output, so here's a timeline instead: 1. start the program on the host 2. write "msg from
