Re: how to install libvirt-python
OK. I am trying to install virt-manager from source but found it difficult!
So I decided to install from repo.
# yum install virt-manager libvirt

CR repo - version issue
Hi
We use mrepo to keep a local repository. I downloaded the CentOS6.1 iso
and used that as the base. We also have the CR repo added.
I was expecting this change to cause no issues but the following
packages have version issues between the base 6.1 and the CR repo:-
base version CR version
dbus-libs-1.2.24-4.el6_0.x86_64 dbus-libs-1.2.24-5.el6_1.x86_64

Can I configure cores instead of CPU's
Hi All,
Scientific Linux 6.1 x64
qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.160.el6_1.2.x86_64
My XP-Pro guest will only let me use two CPUs.
Is there a way I can tell Virt-Manager to use
one CPU with six cores instead of four separate
CPUs?
I can manually insert things with
virsh edit KVM-WinXP
Currently, I have:
<vcpu>6</vcpu>
I found an example of a run string:
-smp

kvm: w7 bsod's at shutdown
Hi All,
I am using Scientific Linux 6.1 x64
Any idea how to get my W7 x32 guest to shutdown with out a BSOD?
I have to go into virt-manager and kill it all the time. My XP guest
shuts down without issue.
Many thanks,

xend:default won''t start due to /usr/bin/kstat not locating autosplit.ix
Short:
Which package do I need to install to get
"auto/I18N/Langinfo/autosplit.ix"?
Long:
The problem I have was discussed almost a year ago (see this
thread), but the resolution was not complete...
I''m using Mark Johnson''s slim.py script (package list below), against
repo=http://pkg.opensolaris.org/dev, followed by `pkg install xvm-gui`
and `svcadm enable

XCP XenAPI fencing script (clustering support)
Hi,
I think this would be the best forum, let me know if not.
I am in the middle of writing fencing scripts for Citrix XenServer virtual
machines (specifically for use with Redhat Clustering, but will also work
from pacemaker etc) and I noticed that XCP uses the same XenAPI (from what I
can tell).
Just wondering if someone would be able to test the scripts on XCP and let
me know if they work.

Re: Remove Virtual bridge and DNSMASQ
HI Michal
Thank you for explaining. I have this situation in a number of production
servers where we would always use static IPs for the host and VMs. In such
case we have no requirement for NATed network in the future. And we we
ever do, we can rely on a DHCP server within the LAN to provide IPs to the
VMs.
I'll look to remove both libivirt-daemon-driver-network,

Qemu
Is there a way to take qemu-4.2 and install on C7/C8 in a "different"
location than normal so as to not affect virtd and anything else running
currently ?
Thanks,

virsh reboot problem
I am trying to reboot my virtual machines, running virsh reboot. Then I get the following error:
error: this function is not supported by the connection driver: virDomainReboot
Searching around I get the impression this should be fixed by now, since the bugs I find are old and resolved. These are the versions I'm running.
