what about socks support?
Is there any plan to add socks 4 or socks 5 support to openssh like
the original ssh developed in finland??

sshd leaking processes
Hello,
I am experiencing a problem with
OpenSSH_4.3p2 Debian-8, OpenSSL 0.9.8c 05 Sep 2006
I have a tool which I use to generate command lines for end-end
encryption through firewalls, following directions from an old
discussion on this mailing list (thanks btw). It gives me something
like this:
ssh -p 47774 localhost -o "ProxyCommand=ssh -v -v vds5.dedi.blackcatnetworks.co.uk -- 'nc

ProxyCommand
Hi all,
I tried to use the ProxyCommand option in the ~/.ssh/config file like
ProxyCommand /usr/local/bin/corkscrew <firewall> 80 %h %p
but it seems th me that the ssh clinet won't use the option
.. How can I tell the client to accept the proxy an send all requests to this host, bcause the internet names ("%P") cannot be resolved inside our lan - this must do the proxy.

TCP connect timeout with proxy
Dear openssh developers and users,
I'm new to the list, and my apologies if this question has been asked
before. I've tried to look for answers and haven't succeeded, which is
why I'm asking.
Here's the situation: I'm connect to a dual-stacked host with A and AAAA
records. The IPv6 connectivity to the host is broken.
When connecting to the host directly from my client

Problemes with ControlPersist
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512
Hello,
There seems to be just a bit to do with the latest openssh (5.8p1) and
ControlPersist. I encountered two problems:
1. When I use ControlPersist in combination with ProxyCommand to reach a
other host over that proxy I get the following message:
Bad packet length 1397966893.
Disconnecting: Paket corrupt

tunneling through stdin/stdout, source routing
Hi,
quite often I find myself using commands like
$ ssh foo nc bar 12345
to connect to another host behind a firewall, and I also have a lot of
these commands in my ssh config file. Since this relies on the server
having netcat available (which a lot don't, or in some really old
version that will not shut down properly) it breaks often, and I wonder
whether it would make sense to have an

Idea for feature recursive ssh: "scp file user1@gateway:user2@server:"
[I sent this email to the list in January but haven't seen it appear.
Maybe it didn't get through moderation?]
How many times have I typed in one window
ssh -L 8022:server:22 user1 at gateway
only so that I can type (in another window!)
scp -P 8022 file user2 at localhost:
This is a pain:
* cumbersome
* requires two commands windows
* confuses ssh's host key

Even if backwards compatibility wasn't a requirement,
I don't see any better way it could be done.

stdio to port forward?
All--
I'm attempting to implement something I've wanted for a while...a
stdio link to a TCP port forward, at least for SSH2, but preferably for
either protocol. There's certainly no technical reason this can't be
done, but the vagaries of terminal / file descriptor handling are posing
something of a challenge.
Does anyone have any suggestions for "correct"

client to support SNI
Hi.
Looks like every ~2 Years raises someone the question about SNI support in the
openssh client.

I have read the docs and haven't seen anything about that this feature is
already available in SSH.

Compounding global and individual settings in ssh-config files?
Hello everyone,
my workplace has gotten the idea of centrally maintaining a file in
ssh_config syntax so that employees do not need to discover every new
machine and configure it on their own. Since it's a case of "let's get
started now, and properly think it through later", right now, a typical

patch to add built-in support for port knocking
All,
A friend gave me access to an svn(+ssh) repository the other day, and
told me that I needed to do some port knocking to open up ssh. It
occurred to me that it would be extremely convenient if I could add a
"knock" configuration option for the host to my ~/.ssh/config file
and never think about this again (rather than creating a shell script

Tested on Cygwin 3.5.1.
I have a testsuite failure in the dynamic-forward testcase.

ssh with proxy?
What is the recommended way to ssh through a proxy? I've been using
putty, compiled from source, as it has a proxy option, but a native option
would be very nice.
Thanks.

SCO OpenServer 5.0.6a and missing libncurses.so.4
I've downloaded Samba 2.2.6 (binaries) from SCOs Skunkware site, but
when I try and run smbclient I get a message :
dynamic linker : smbclient : error opening /usr/local/lib/libncurses.so.4
Killed
I've checked and there is no libncurses.so.4 (or
libncurses.<anything> for that matter) on the system. I've also
failed to find anything relevant in either the list archive or SCOs
