from Cyrus to Dovecot, seen status on cyrus.index files
Hello,
Using cyrus2dovecot (https://github.com/a-schild/cyrus2dovecot) I have
migrated some test mailboxes from Cyrus (2.4.17) to Dovecot (2.2.9).
The problem I'm having is that the seen status is in cyrus.index files,
which cyrus2dovecot doesn't understand.
Does anyone use cyrus2dovecot for migrations? If so, how do you deal with
seen status when it is stored in the .index files?

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hi there,
I was in the same position, but for mutliple accounts. Still you might want to look at imapsync (https://github.com/imapsync/imapsync), isync and offlineimap. There are more alternatives listed at the imapsync homepage.

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hi,
With imapsync you will lose message UIDs which means that IMAP clients need to clear their local caches and redownload all messages. Why not use dovecot dsync over imapc instead? It tries to preserve UIDs and Flags.

v2.2.19 has many fixes related to dsync+imapc, which were found while migrating several million users from GMail. I'm not aware of any problems with it now. Also even before v2.2.19 dsync+imapc has been used to successfully do many large migrations.

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
I have been attempting to use the cyrus2dovecot script, to no avail.
I have many years of content that I want to convert from Cyrus to
Dovecot; with the above not working, what are other options out there?
Another idea I had is simply set up another IMAP server (using Dovecot)
and drag-and-drop and just wait, which I may end up doing.
In the above, I copied over my entire /var/imap and

Thank you for the reply. I did find imapsync whilst perusing Google. I
will give it a shot, it sounds more realistic/reliable. I have a hoard
of emails going back to 1999, so I want as few errors as possible :)

DoveCot 2.0.9: Problem with some Clients and separator (migrate from Cyrus)
hi,
we had to move from a old dieing Sparc very quickly our Cyrus IMAP Users
to Dovecot. Most things works, but some Clients (like Evolution or
Thunderbird) are strange. Our separator in Dovecot2 is "^", the
mailboxes on the filesystem are something like
"INBOX.subfolder1.subfolder2", but in TB and Evo I see
INBOX^subfolder1^subfolder^

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hello,
Because it did not work ?
In a similar situation, we where forced to use isync/mbsync in imap to
imap mode because dsync did not work.
It was reported here more than a year ago (May 2014).
Time to time, I see the same report from other trying to use dsync to do
a migration to dovecot.
Dsync is a very appealing and elegant solution to this usage, but it
does not always work in real

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hi,
No, I tried fetching over imapc too exactly as you suggested.
In my case it was not from cyrus, but from CriticalPath.
isync was finally able to do the job, preserving flags and doing UIDs
mapping. The most boring part was generating proper config file for
thousands of accounts.
A working imapc/dsync would have been better.
Emmanuel.

I think I get pretty much the same issue:

Cyrus firstname.lastname@domain
I'm converting an environment from mandrake to centos, and always try to
use the applications standard on the distribution. This means a switch
from courier to cyrus.
A bit of reading uncovered a potential problem - the site uses
firstname.lastname at domain, and I have come across references that Cyrus
does not support this. I couldn't find this limitation in the Cyrus

Migrating from Cyrus to Dovecot
Hi,
we are migrating from Cyrus 2.3.7 to Dovecot 2.2.13. We have ~7000
maildirs with ~500GB. Our goal is to do the migration without users have
notice and with the shortest service downtime. The users use IMAP (with
shared folders and ACL), POP3 and sieve filters.
As a first choice, we tried the Dovecot's dsync tool. First tests were
great, but we are not able to change the Cyrus auth

Cyrus mailbox (plain files) to Dovecot
Hi,
I'm migrating from a Cyrus to a Dovecot installation right now. As part of
it I've got plain Cyrus mailboxes (w/o real metadata; so to say I've got
the /var/spool/imap/user part but not the /var/lib/imap/user one)).
Those former mailboxes I want to provide under a public namespace via ACLs.
The question I cannot answer right now is:
How can I convert these plain mailboxes on a FS

LMTP crashing heavily for my 2.2.36 installation
Hi,
I'm running 2.2.36 (as provided by openSUSE in their server:mail
repository) and at least at one of my systems LMTP is crashing regularly on
certain messages (apparently a lot of them).

preserving flags for shared mailbox when migrating from cyrus to dovecot
Dear all,
Despite all the progress we are making in our attempt to make the
migration as smooth and transparent for our users there are still some
important unsolved issues. One thing that I can't figure out is how to
preserve a user's flags that s/he has for mail in a shared mailbox.
So far we tried 'doveadm backup -R' as well as the cyrus2dovecot script
from here [1]. Both
