Finding Instances of a Pattern Throughout Data Set
I have approximately 2.5 million rows from a number of sensor readings. Having plotted these, I can see a given pattern (say a spike in the amplitude away from the mean). I would now like to automate this procedure as we're expecting a great deal more data in the near future. Is there any package or function that will make this possible? Many thanks! I suppose, I could do something like:

section needed in FAQ - Using R (PR#9698)
Full_Name: Ray Kiddy Version: R 2.5.0 GUI 1.19 (4308) OS: Mac OS X 10.4.9 Submission from: (NULL) (71.139.33.60) There is no section in the FAQ equivalent to "Using R". The "R Basics" is too basic. I would say it addresses "meta-R" questions, such as installing. I had a FAQ that I would think would be a basic "Using R" question, namely: "How does

R package for visualizing/analyzing accelerometry data?
Hello All - Any recommendations or suggestions for neat ways to visualize data taken from a 3-axis accelerometer? My study species is aquatic, so I would be interested in movement in the 3 dimensions in addition to being able to incorporate the time series as well. Is there a package in R that might be useful for this? Thank you in advance, Jen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jennifer Maresh, PhD

Zoomable graphs with multiple plots
Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone could confirm/deny whether there exists any kind of package to facilitate zoomable graphs with multiple plots (eg, plot(..) and then points(..)). I've tried zoom from IDPmisc, and iplot from the iplot and iplot extreme packages, but as far I can tell, neither can handle the task. Does anyone know anything else that might work? Or generally know

Zoomable chart
Hi, I would like to create an interactive bubble chart from a Rails- based database. I''ve spent quite a lot of time browsing the posts both here and on rubyforums for similar queries, but haven''t really found a definitive answer yet. I would like each point to be clickable, and would like users to be able to zoom and navigate within the chart. We would prefer not to use Flash for

Vibration signal prediction in R
I have a vibration signal coming accelerometer. I converted this signal from* m/s^2* to *mm/s*. Now I am supposed to predict this vibration signal in R using historical data. (Please see the attached picture of vibration signal). Can I use this vibration signal just like that to the prediction using predictive Models or Do i need to do some processing technique before doing prediction? Are there

NFFT on a Zoo?
I have an irregular time series in a Zoo object, and I've been unable to find any way to do an FFT on it. More precisely, I'd like to do an NFFT (non-equispaced / non-uniform time FFT) on the data. The data is timestamped samples from a cheap self-logging accelerometer. The data is weakly regular, with the following characteristics: - short gaps every ~20ms - large gaps every ~200ms

Problems with ext3/jbd on 2.4.27-vrs1 with power management
Hello all, I have a question about ext3/jbd for 2.4 as it pertains to the ARM architecture. The presence of the ext3 and/or jbd drivers seem to cause suspend/resume to stop working on our platform (SA1110 (StrongARM) - based). My question is: are there any appropriate patches since 2.4.27 to either ext3 or jbd that may be appropos to this issue. I have also posted to the ARM kernel mailing list

In case you missed them, here are some articles related to R from the month of February: The R Consortium opens a new round of grant applications for R-related

display, accelerometer/motion sensor being the first 4 for release (though 81 have been mocked up so far). The long term concept is if you want a 'weather station with live video feeds and gps location control you can add various modules together to deliver what you are looking to achieve. I have high hopes for the concepts, and wish the guys well as it seems their hearts are in the right

Your false remark on PR#1654
The comment says `Works in 2.3.0: BDR fixed inline [xy]axp' and 2.2.1 is not 2.3.0. Your example is not reproducible, so we cannot check. If you get a copy of R-devel (as the FAQ and posting guide ask you to before posting) you can check for yourself. Please do study the FAQ and avoid time-wasting.
