bug in dev.copy2pdf output?
Hi, Am using R 2.13.1 on Linux (Fedora). Is anybody else having problems with dev.copy2pdf xyplot output with the pch=1 (open circle) symbol? The symbols come out as "q" in the PDF. dev.copy2eps produces the correct results as does cairo_pdf. Other symbols produced with dev.copy2pdf seem ok. Thanks, Selwyn

Multiple palettes on single plot don't get rendered when I use dev.copy2pdf
Hi All, I'm having trouble with the colors on my screen getting translated to the colors in the outputted .pdf document. Here is a caricature of my problem: par(mfrow=c(1,1)) x1 = rnorm(1000) x2 = rnorm(1000)+10 y1 = rnorm(1000)+10 y2 = rnorm(1000)+10 palette(rainbow(6)) plot(x=x1,y=y1,col=y1,xlim=c(-10,20)) palette(heat.colors(6)) points(x=x2,y=y2,col=y2) dev.copy2pdf(file =

R 2.7.0: pdf() > pdf.options versus formals
Hi, I have a tiny question about the graphics change in R 2.7.0. If I write a script ? la: options(device="pdf") formals(pdf)[c("file","onefile","width","height")] <- list("~/Rplot %03d.pdf", FALSE, 8, 8) plot(3) plot(4) both plots will be written into ONE pdf file. (not two as expected) This worked fine under 2.6.x In R 2.7.0 I

onefile= arg to postscript() (PR#854)
Full_Name: Peter Perkins Version: 1.2.1 OS: LinuxPPC Submission from: (NULL) (24.4.89.36) Unlike (at least some) other args/components of ps.options(), the onefile= arg to postscript() does not default to ps.options()$onefile. For the family= and landscape= args, for example, it does. Looking at postscript()'s code, this appears to be intentional. If it _is_ intentional, the following

Help with graphs in A4 size
Hi, I need to generate complex graphics which have to be shown in the plot window but also in pdf file, and they must have A4 size. This is the reason why I use width=8.27 and heigth=11.69. The problem is that I don't make it runs when I put something (text, lines, and so on) outside the plot region. I mean if I run the following code, it works perfectly, because the text "My

Truetype and Opentype font in pdf device
Deal all, I want to know if truetype or opentype fonts are available in pdf device (i.e., pdf() or dev.copy2pdf()), and if so, how to do it? Now I can do as followings: 1. convert ttf to afm using ttf2afm, e.g.: $ ttf2afm Impact.ttf > Impact.afm 2. put the afm file in $R_HOME/library/grDevices/afm 3. register a new type1 font: pdfFonts(Impact=Type1Font("Impact",

PDF output problem
Hello, I'm quite new to R, but I've already stepped into this problem: I open a PDF device with: pdf("Name-%d.pdf", width=10, height=10, onefile=FALSE) And draw 4 histograms in a row, expecting the pdf device to automatically number them from 1 to 4. What I get back is only 2 images with names "Name-1.pdf" and "Name-2.pdf" that contain the two last

Unpredictable EPS->PDF rotation (PR#4460)
Dear r-bugs, When I create EPS files, they sometimes appear rotated in my LaTeX PDF document and sometimes they don't. Two examples: ## x1.eps is not rotated in LaTeX x <- seq(-1, 1, length=100) postscript("c:/x1.eps", height=3, width=4, horizontal=FALSE, onefile=FALSE, paper="special") plot(x, dnorm(x), type="l") dev.off() ## x2.eps is not

pdf() and pdflatex
I am having good success in using pdf() to produce pdf graphics files for inclusion in documents processed by pdflatex [I'm using R 1.6.0 on Linux]. I am having one small problem consistently though, which I believe I also had with S-Plus's pdf.graph(): wasted space at the top of the graph which causes pdflatex to put the graph on a later page, when the current page has plenty of space.

R crashes using pdf() windows() or postscript()
Dear HelpeRs, I have a script where I save several thousands of graphics. These are then used in Latex through Sweave. Unfortunately R crashes while making these plots and Windows pops up some message that I run low on virtual memory. I tried to save the plots using pdf(), windows() and postscript() and also tried to run it with R CMD BATCH myscript.R. But after a while R slows down and crashes

Bounding Box in pdf files
This is probably a faq but I have not been able to find a solution. I create a pdf file in R but latex complains that it can't find the bounding box. Here is an example: > pdf(file="test.pdf", onefile=FALSE, width=8,height=8) > plot(1:10) > dev.off() X11 2 > sessionInfo() R version 2.2.1, 2005-12-20, sparc-sun-solaris2.9 attached base packages: [1]

How to enable Arial font for postcript/pdf figure on Windows?
Hi, I need to generate some figure using the Arial font as a requirement for PLoS. Following their guidelines, I have converted the windows font files arial.tff files to .afm using tff2afm (exec file from MikTeX), but when I try to generate a postcript file, the postcript device does not recognize the .afm files. The code I use to test the new font is the following:

a fix for rotated PDF graphs
Hi, I have found references for the following problem in the list archives, but no nice solution. So I decided to post one I came up with. The problem is that graphs output as eps files, for example using ps.options(onefile=FALSE, paper="special", width=8, height=8, horizontal=FALSE, pointsize=12) get rotated when I convert them to pdf using epstopdf. Both ghostview and

patch for textspecial and defaultfont in xfig
Hello, The current xfig device lacks the functionality to set the textspecial flag and use the defaultfont in xfig. This is necessary when you want to export to xfig and use interpreted text (e.g., $ \frac{1}{e}$ gets interpreted by latex). The attached patch adds this functionality. Why would you like to do this? - Use math in labels (e.g., name your variables $r_{xy}$, do a

export figure by pdf command
Dear R mailing listers, After plotting, I wanna save it as file in pdf format using pdf("name.pdf") command. It failed, but I can do it by GUI operation (file-save as-pdf). e.g. x11() hist(x, breaks = 50, probability = FALSE) pdf("hist.pdf") [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
