Intended behaviour of "add user" and smbpasswd
Hi,
I'd like to upgrade my 2.2 samba to the latest 3.x stable, so I'm
experimenting with the new features of 3.x on a RHEL 3 clone. I've run
into some difficulty when using usrmgr.exe for administrating users.
I've filled out the 'add user script' define with:
add user script = /usr/sbin/useradd -g sambausers -c "Samba
User" -d /dev/null -s

PRI echo issues: solvable?
Hello,
After solving the other "low hanging fruit" audio issues in our Asterisk
PBX, we are left with occasional cases of severe echo which we have not
found a solution for yet.
Our system:
- Asterisk 1.2.0-beta1
- TE110P on a PRI
- TDM04 and TDM40, but these are unrelated to current echo issues
- Fedora core 3
- Echo canceller KB1
Most calls have minimal, acceptable echo levels. But

'virsh capabilities' on Debian Wheezy-amd64 reports different cpu to Wheezy-i386 (on same hardware)
Hi
On a range of Dell servers containing Intel 64bit processors, 'virsh
capabilities' reports the cpu differently on Debian Wheezy-amd64 and
Wheezy-i386. The results given by the Wheezy-i386 version seem very
wrong (since n270 is an Atom processor). Apart from architecture, the
package versions of libvirt-bin are identical: 1.2.1-1~bpo70+1.
/usr/share/libvirt/cpu_map.xml files are

zap to zap bridging not hanging up
Hi
I am trying to develop a night divert. Caller dials in after hours on
Zap and it gets divert to a mobile number via a second Zap. The call
bridges but will not hangup the channels when the parties finish.
Is there something I am missing or an dial option that I should be
using. I am using latest CVS.

Moving On
Cross-posted to the blog (at

When Jamis Buck wrote last year about ceasing development on
Capistrano, his post really struck a chord with me. If this post
reminds you of that one, it''s because I re-read it before sitting down
to compose this one. It was the next best thing to having Jamis on
hand to give me a pep talk before I had to

Pointer ownership with GECreateDevDesc/GEDestroyDevDesc
According to the "R Internals" document, for a custom device, I should
create a pDevDesc structure that gets passed to GECreateDevDesc.
..elided...
pDevDesc dev;
/* Allocate and initialize the device driver data */
if (!(dev = (pDevDesc) calloc(1, sizeof(DevDesc)))) return 0;
/* or error() */
/* set up device driver or free ?dev? and error() */
gdd = GEcreateDevDesc(dev);

Echo Issues
Hi all,
We have just installed a * server (CVS head) with a TE110P card and a
IDSN20 line, we are using the GXP-2000 handsets running the latest
firmware (.9).
Some of the calls we are receiving have echo at the our end (we can hear
ourselves speak).
We have a traditional ISDN telephone system here as well and when I make
a call from one of the handsets asterisk answers, directs the call to
