Recently, I set up the same at our Parish, but one of our users wants to get their email externally. The user can read their email but has to "send" via the local ISP server.. The problem After much searching I have not found an answer to my question. I

migrate dovecot files 1.2.16 to 2.0.13 (OpenBSD 5.0)
Hi, I have a mailserver(Postfix+MySql) on OpenBSD 4.9 with Dovecot 1.2.16, all works fine. Now i want to do the same but on OpenBSD 5.0. I meet problems using dovecot 2.0.13 on OpenBSD 5.0. Some tests (on the box): telnet 127.0.0.1 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to 127.0.0.1. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. telnet 127.0.0.1 143 Trying 127.0.0.1...

per-user limit?
I am seeing a problem where users are limited to 6 imap logins total. One of my users has a bunch of phones and computers, and wants them all on at the same time. I'm looking through my configuration, and I cannot see a limit on how many times a single user can connect. He is connecting from different IPs. Any ideas? My logs show the following error when they attempt to auth for a 7th

Warnings compiling on OpenBSD 4.4 i386
Hi, probably just nothing to worry about, but I get the following warnings when building 1.1.7 on OpenBSD 4.4 on i386. If I remove the --with-bsdauth config option, they all disappear. I won't use it anyway, but maybe there are others. $ dmesg OpenBSD 4.4 (GENERIC) #1021: Tue Aug 12 17:16:55 MDT 2008 deraadt at i386.openbsd.org:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC cpu0: Intel(R)

mdbox_deleted proper syntax
hello, on the wiki, https://wiki2.dovecot.org/MailboxFormat/dbox, it says that one can use either doveadm fetch or doveadm import, however I can find no correct syntax with fetch that'll actually work. Is the idea to simply override the mail_location with -o ? That seems to work for doveadm mailbox but not for doveadm fetch or search # doveadm -f table mailbox status -u johan all dovecot

virtual mailbox users users can send, but can't read e-mail
Greetings, I am trying to add the second virtual mailbox domain (transco.org.au) to an existing Postfix/Dovecot/MySQL mail server. Users of the first virtual mailbox domain (transylvania.org.au) have no problems sending and receiving mail. Users belonging to the second virtual mailbox domain can successfully send mail to outside, however they won't receive the mail, though Postfix

problem compiling OpenSSH 3.9 on OpenBSD 3.4
Please pardon any user idiocy involved, but I applied the OpenBSD 3.4 patch to the 3.9 sources on both my i386 and sparc64 OpenBSD 3.4 boxes, and get the same error: cc -o sshd sshd.o auth-rhosts.o auth-passwd.o auth-rsa.o auth-rh-rsa.o sshpty.o sshlogin.o servconf.o serverloop.o uidswap.o auth.o auth1.o auth2.o auth-options.o session.o auth-chall.o auth2-chall.o groupaccess.o auth-skey.o

BSD Auth: set child environment variables requested by login script [PATCH]
Hello, in the BSD Authentication system the login script can request environment variables to be set/unset. The call to auth_close() in auth-passwd.c does change the current environment, but those changes are lost for the child environment. It would be really useful to add some kind of mechanism to get those changes into the child environment. I've added two possible solutions. Both

configuring sendmail to work with dovecot+LDAP
I would like to setup dovecot (1.1.20) with LDAP virtual users, but I don't seem to understand how to get my sendmail to accept mail for the virtual users. (I am rather new to this, so I may have some misunderstandings) I have followed - wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/DovecotOpenLdap (OpenLDAP 2.3.43) and I think I have IMAP working for virtual users. I can connect to port 143, enter a username and

Dovecot v2.0.12 OpenBSD - getpwuid() error
Hi! I've upgraded from 2.0.11 to 2.0.12. I've experienced errors during delivery with dovecot-lda. The error log attached contains the errors. Since then I had to downgrade to 2.0.11, to make it work again. When starting 2.0.12, it couldn't chown() the files under /var/dovecot (eg.: dict) to the user specified in the configuration file. Configuration: # doveconf -n # 2.0.11:
