samba 3 a 4 with kerberized nfs4
Hi openSUSE 12.1 server and client. I can't get the s4 fileserver nor uid:gid mappings working with s4. I used nfs and idmapd instead. It's working, but I've a couple of qns. 1. Server fqdn hh3.hh3.site Samba 4, DNS and NFS4 I set up the nfs server with GSSAPI as in this screenshot: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IspbLnfxizc/Txsp-Z1z1tI/AAAAAAAAADk/lsgel498elg/s1600/yastnfs1.png The nfs

Failures to renegotiate machine password & domain participation check fails
Hello everyone, Can I ask for some assistance please. Apologies if there is an easy solution to this tail of wow that I haven't been able to find online. We've been having persistent problems with a Scientific Linux release 7.4 machine that is joined to an Active Directory domain. Ever 30 days or so it trust relationship between the server and the domain would fail, apparently because

smb.conf 'use kerberos keytab = true'
openSUSE 12.1, Samba 3.61 joined to Samba 4 Domain /etc/samba/smb.conf on the Linux client is as follows: workgroup = CACTUS realm = HH3.SITE security = ADS use kerberos keytab = true testparm tells me it is ignoring the 'use kerberos keytab = true' entry. Linux users can logon fine, kinit and getent password work. The Samba 4 logs show that kerberos has authenticated the user. Users

Winbind losing Trust with the AD domain
Hi list ! I've been trying to get a fileserver with kerberised NFS4 and Samba going on a RHEL 6.3 box, with a 2k8r2 AD backend, using the rpm's provided by Redhat. (3.5.10-125) I also tried the rpms from sernet (both 3.6 and 3.5) with no success... The Join to the domain works: # net ads join createcomputer="Servers/LINUX systems"

Samba + Windows 2008 + Solaris + Native nss_ldap/gssapi - Possible?
Good Morning, We have a network of Solaris 10 machines authenticating and doing name lookups via a Windows 2008 (SP2) domain using the Solaris ldap client and self/gssapi credentials. Each machine has a machine account that is prepared via a script with the following attributes: userAccountControl: 4263936 (WORKSTATION_TRUST_ACCOUNT | DONT_EXPIRE_PASSWORD | DONT_REQ_PREAUTH)

GSSAPI/Kerberos authenticate with Dovecot
Ah, i think whats going on here. The wiki example and your are using different setup. The wiki uses a separate account, and not the computer account like you. Based on that wiki. - install server + samba. ( already dont ) - join the domain. ( also done ) Good you said you have share access.. ln -sf /usr/local/samba/private/krb5.conf /etc/krb5.conf << not needed. Just use the

Randomly occurring file losses on samba share
Hello, further investigating the problem we were able to provoke an issue that might be related to the initial problem and could be reproduced with a higher likelihood. The core of the reproducible problem is, that sometimes a file is being created by an application running on the client, but then cannot be written to. Therefore the application throws permission related errors and documents

Windows clients keep losing connections (FQDN and hostname)
Connecting to \\server.domain.xx.uk\share and \\server\share, works but we tend to lose "\\server\share" within a few days, *but starts working again*. \\FQDN\share eventually stops, with windows reporting "network path not found". If I do a "net use" I can see several connections to \\fqdn\share, and running "net use * /delete", brings back the the ability

GSSAPI/Kerberos authenticate with Dovecot
Whats set for the server in its delegation? sudo samba-tool delegation show dovecot\$ Run this on the DC, or add the -S YourDC.hostname You need something like this: samba-tool delegation for-any-service dovecot\$ on Or setup for only imap, but cifs/nfs automounts may need this to. After you've set it, i suggest, export the imap keytab again. Not really sure if its needed, but if it does

Kerberos tickets problem
I'm setting up a Solaris 10 server as a test samba server with AD authentication. I'm running into a little bit of issue with Kerberos tickets. The setup is as follows Solaris-10, Windows AD-2003/R2, native Solaris (sparc) samba, Kerberos, LDAP (shipped with the distro) and IMU on windows. My LDAP client is working good and validates getent passwd <user> and can run ldaplist -l

Where is krb5.keytab or equivalent?
It's getting abit offtopic for the samba list :-) Look at the testing section in http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Authentication/Kerberos do what is mentioned below "Test that the server can access the keytab". If i run the telnet authenticated test and klist afterwards contains the imap keys. Am 01.07.2016 um 08:21 schrieb Mark Foley: > More info ... > > when I do > >
