Mac markdown editor that saves as .txt
Hi all, I'm a newer user of markdown & MultiMarkdown, and I'm looking for the perfect setup of software for my Mac and my Android phone. I'd like to have my drafts editable from both. What I want is an attractive Mac app for writing (primarily blog posts and emails) that saves its files as .txt . Most of them save as .md or .markdown instead, and since there doesn't seem to

Metadata syntax (was Universal syntax for Markdown)
So, hi all. First time commenting on the list. I personally think having tags (whether of type "author:" or type "by") is useful for two reasons. One: It allows multiple tags to be entered. Two, it clears up the potential problem listed by Fletcher regarding tags. by Christoph Freitag Affiliation: XYZ by Fletcher T. Penney Affiliation: ABC tags: Markdown, Standardization,

easiest markdown to PDF conversion
I'd love to hear everyone's favorite way to convert markdown to PDF. I'm looking for the easiest, most straightforward option. >From what I've gathered, the method needs to include something like LaTeX in order to have it paginate correctly, so I'll need to install that as well. Is this correct? When I've used the simple export-to-PDF options in Marked, MMD

Markdown and the hCal microformat
Hi, I've got a suggestion for adding something to Markdown's syntax. I'm new to the list, so I don't know if this is likely to be received well - I'm aware that it's not all that common (yet) to want to do something like this, and I don't know where everyone here stands on if or how to make markup more meaningful. I'd like to generate some microformated

Create Slide Shows (PowerPoint/KeyNote-Style) Using Markdown using the Slide Show (S9) Ruby Gem
Hello, I've published a Ruby gem that lets you create slide shows and author slides in plain text using a wiki-style markup language that's easy-to-write and easy-to-read. Yes, that's Markdown. (Textile is supported too ;-) You can find two samples online in Markdown: o http://slideshow.rubyforge.org/svn/samples/rest.text o

Markdown-Discuss Digest, Vol 103, Issue 8
You could, like the rest of us, simply skim past a post not interesting to you. Oh, but then you wouldn't get to show off how clever you are with your use of "crAppStore"! > I'm sure the world will dearly mourn the failures of markdown-based > crAppStore apps. > > > Now go troll somewhere else, kid. > > Yeah, it would be ironic of trolls to call each

But investigating that will have to wait for the morrow! I'm afraid you are confusing two different replies. SmartyPants looks for two hyphens (or tee dashes) and turns them into an em dash. The three dashes is for another

[PATCH] Use -MMD -MF in tools/* rather than -Wp,-M...
If you use -MMD -MF then the correct .o filename is written to the .*.d file as the compiler driver arranges everything. This was done in 19010:275abe1c5d24 for the hypervisor. In this patch we do the same elsewhere in the xen-unstable tree, particularly tools/. Specifically: * Change tools/Rules.mk to add -MMD -MF ... to CFLAGS and set DEPS. * Remove -Wp,-MD... from every other Makefile *

Issues compiling syslinux-3.72 on Linux 2.6.25(.19)
Howdy. I'm one of the maintainers of Astlinux (www.astlinux.org). We're updating the kernel from 2.6.20, to 2.6.25 (.19), and as such, some packages that previously compiled stopped doing so. We also went from syslinux-3.63 to syslinux-3.72, hoping that a newer version would be more amenable to a more recent kernel. No joy. We're cross-compiling on FC8 (updated) on an i386

PEG Markdown Highlight
Dear fellow Markdown enthusiasts, As you all might know, Markdown is a highly context sensitive language that the (often regex-based) syntax highlighting mechanisms in existing editors struggle to keep up with. I have taken John MacFarlane's excellent peg-markdown compiler and modified its parser to function as an interpreter for syntax highlighting purposes. The end result is a

[PATCH] Dont bypass compiler driver for Dependency generation options
We can let compiler driver pass the right options to preprocessor after processing -Mxy options, right now its bypassing the gcc driver and handing them straight to cpp This also helps in other compilers processing these options correctly for their preprocessors consumption Signed-off-by: Khem Raj <raj.khem at gmail.com> --- mk/syslinux.mk | 4 ++-- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2
