only root without password
Hi all,
I have a very strange problem with the public key authentication with 2
machines.
I generated the key, configured the authorized_keys etc.. etc.. This is
all ok, now:
The ssh works without the password for the "root" user, any other user
cannot use the key and ssh ask me for the password !!
I cannot understand why only the root is able to connect without the
password. So, the ssh

Samba 4 slow write
Hello Ervin,
The in-memory cache lookup could be added back into
samba-4.1.6 by applying the attached patch,
if it could be compiled with Louis how-to steps,
perhaps got the chance to make U14.04 be stayed on samba-4.
Here is my test,
the test-bench is uploading 5000 files and each one is 1MB.
The attached patch could improve 15% at case B).
Case A) Original samba-4.1.6

Samba 4 slow write
Hi Jones,
many thanks again four your help and your time.
Thanks for the patch too - I'll check it up.
On my Ubuntu, there is a Samba 4.1.6. I'll install the samba
source package, and will try to apply the patch, then - I hope -
the package will be compiled as well.
I'll notify to you about the result. (First, I need to upgrade
that server.)
Thanks again,
Ervin

R 2.0.0 Installation Problem
I and my students have been having an odd problem with this release,
which is that packages are disappearing. After installation the
package is found with the library command, but later in the same
session or in a later session, the library command returns a not found
error. Then later it is back. Happening on both Windows and OS X,
mostly but not entirely with Bioconductor packages.

I changed my SMB.conf on the DC's and the member as per your instructions. Now the connection dropped at 10 hours, which appears to be the default end time of the certificate.

plot log scale, axis original scale
I want to produce some boxplots and plot the logged values but have the
axis scale in the original, not-logged scale. It seeming like I have the
first few steps but I'm having trouble with the last. Here's what I'm
doing (which I got for the documentation for boxplot and axis). How do I
get the ticks to be labeled 2,5, and 9 of the original scale?

Variable Bit Rate
Is FLAC a variable bit rate format when streamed? If so, how can it be
truly lossless?

[PATCH] daemon: always provide stdin when running chroot commands (RHBZ#1280029)
When running commands in the mounted guest (using the "command" API, and
APIs based on it), provide the /dev/null from the appliance as open fd
for stdin. Commands usually assume stdin is open if they didn't close
it explicitly, so this should avoid crashes or misbehavings due to that.

Summary vs fivenum results for Q3
I've just started using R and am still a neophyte, but I found the following curious result. I'm using the current version of R (2.5.1 (2007-06-27) ).
Why are the results for the third quartile different in the output from the summary and fivenum commands? For the following data set
457 514 530 530 538 560 687 745 745 778 786 790 792

Problem With Android Configuration
Yes. The problem is lollipop. I tried to install tinc on my brother's
device which mount a cyano 10.1( android 4.2.2) and it works.
I don't understand which is the problem with lollipop. Is there a firewall
that block the packets?
Andrea Squeri
If you are running Lollipop / Android 5.x on your Nexus 5, then you are
probably seeing the same issue I was with it. lollipop seems to change

Intel SATA controller (cmiiw) not recognized by Centos 5.1 installation?
Hi, there,
I tried to install Centos 5.1 on a Dell Inspiron 530 box I just bought, but
failed due to invalid drive. The installation did not recognize either the
DVD nor the hard disk. Joseph from the community said it is likely that
Centos can't recognize the controller -- Intel SATA controller (cmiiw).
Did anyone solve this problem before? How did you do it?
