This patch series lets you run the daemon under valgrind. Many errors were found and fixed. With the complete series applied, valgrind doesn't show any errors.

This is a first attempt to build libguestfs with just a ocaml bytecode compiler. The three tools written in ocaml will be build only when an ocamlopt compiler is available. OCaml 4.02 introduced the 'bytes' type, a mutable string intended to replace the existing 'string' type for those cases where the byte array can be mutated. In future the 'string' type will become immutable. This is not the default now, but it can be forced using the '-safe-string' compile option. I tested this on Fedora 24 (OCaml 4.02) & RHEL 7 (OCaml 4.01).

Currently we are unable to properly run guestfsd (the daemon) under valgrind. Attempts to run valgrind inside the appliance have not been successful (see patch 1/7). However we desperately need better valgrind coverage of the daemon, particularly because it is doing a lot of complex parsing of program output. This has been a problem for a long time. At the moment OpenStack uses kpartx and nbd to resize filesystems and inject files to guests. I sincerely hope they don't allow untrusted users to upload guest images / AMIs :-( To fix this I'm looking into adding libguestfs support as an optional backend in OpenStack.
