IMAP-proxy or not with sogo webmail and dovecot backend
We've been collecting some stats to see what kind of benefits

running in High-performance mode http://wiki2.dovecot.org/LoginProcess
with authentication caching http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Authentication/Caching
During the weekend two servers (webmail3 and webmail4) has been running

master user only for sieve
Changes in SOGo is forcing me to define a master user, so that SOGo can
disable sieve out-of-office processing on a given date. I'm not too
happy about having master users that are allowed to read the users
messages, so is it possible to define a master user that can only log in
trough manage-sieve?

Best Cluster Storage
Hi Everyone,
I wish to create a Postfix/Dovecot active-active cluster (each node will
run Postfix *and* Dovecot), which will obviously have to use central
storage. I'm looking for ideas to see what's the best out there. All of
this will be running on multiple Xen hosts, however I don't think that
matters as long as I make sure that the cluster nodes are on different

Yes, and the answer is: no.

why is dovecot "Allowing any password"

Well, the thing is: SOGo has this ability to behave like a *real*
exchange server, as if it's running on a windows server. And this
enables Outlook to connect to it like it would to an exchange server.
(so: not in imap mode, and not using regular username/password

look : winbind depends on samba (= 2:4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1); however:

so mixed setup of ubuntu with inverse packages of samba.
You need to use the inverse packages of samba to keep openchange working.
I suggest you set your package pinning.
OR !
remove the inverse : winbind version and install the ubuntu version.

Samba-AD-DC package question . . .
I have an existing Samba-AD-DC built from Inverse packages,
v.4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1
I have OpenChangeServer installed on that machine, v.2.4-zentyal6
When I start OpenChange, it "shuts down" my Samba-AD-DC so that no one
can login.
To troubleshoot my problem, I've built a "new" Samba-AD-DC from the same
Inverse packages, but I see a slight difference in the installed

samba (via openchange) panic when checking username in outlook
Hi all
I installed Sogo + OpenChange following the user guides
(http://www.sogo.nu/downloads/documentation.html), on a CentOS6.
The only difference from the official way is I have a 4.1.7 Samba I
built using Sogo specfile, where I added the "--enable-debug"
"./configure" option: http://pastebin.com/P129yhu2
All but the samba4 RPM is from the Sogo repository.
Using it

Plugin execution order and Sieve
Hello,
I use dovecot 2.0.1 and pigeonhole Sieve (version of August),
I try to create a deliver plugin (lda or lmtp), but if I declare, in
addition to my plugin, sieve, sieve is called first, and my plugin is
never called.
I tried to change the order of declaration of plugins, but nothing changes.
If I remove Sieve, my plugin is properly called.

Question re kerberos . . .
I've used the Samba AD DC HOWTO
<https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO> to install Samba 4

I've successfully configured the domain/realm and DNS (as far as I can

dovecot-1.2.6: Panic: pool_data_stack_realloc(): stack frame changed
When playing with large numbers of IMAP keywords on dovecot-1.2.6 imap
crashed:
Panic: pool_data_stack_realloc(): stack frame changed
Looks like either maildir_file_do() shouldn't T_BEGIN/T_END or the
keywords array should start larger.

SAML | Input buffer full (no auth attempts in 0 secs)
Hi,
In my journey to enable SAML auth for our webmail (sogo.nu) I have
created a password-less dovecot imap listener on 127.0.0.1/32, so that
once a user is SAML authenticated for the SOGo webmail, SOGo can connect
to dovecot on 127.0.0.1:143 with something like "01 LOGIN username
randompassword".
Watching this (tcpflow) as it happens,i can see the following auth

Samba4 openchange status
I strongly and completely disagree with statement that is "IMHO the need
for openchange is disappearing. "
It is the only and one project/soft providing Exchange functionality on
Linux platform.
